"So you can drag me through hell
If it meant I could hold your hand"
Bring Me The Horizon
I started training alone this morning. Phil was on another show, and Demi had a meeting with the hairstylist to twist her style a little bit, for her new heel persona. I started on the machines, Parkway Drive playing loudly in my headphones, and got lost in my own little world. So lost that I jumped a little when I felt my connected watch vibrate. I checked it, and when I saw the message notification, I took my phone out of my bag.
From Demi, 9:15 a.m:
"Hey, are you around?"
"If you're busy it's okay, it's nothing serious"
From Roxanne, 9:16 a.m:
"Hey, yeah I'm training right now, but tell me where and I'll come!"
"Is everything okay Dem's ?"
From Demi, 9:18 a.m:
"Yeah, it's probably dumb and pathetic"
"I'm in the girls bathroom, close to the hairdresser's green room."
I quickly put my phone back in my pocket, and threw my hoodie over my sports bra. I walked fast to the place Demi indicated me, and found her looking at her reflection in the mirror, a puzzled expression on her face, her lips sealed shut.
"Demi, I'm here, what's wrong?" I asked softly, placing my hand on her forearm. "Is your hair the problem?" Her long blond hair was cut really short, and partially shaved.
"Yeah." She choked on her words. "Fuck that's such a dumb thing to be upset about." She laughed nervously.
"No, of course not. It's your hair, you have the right to feel weird about it." I reassured her. "Do you think I was happy they made me look like fucking Caillou for weeks ?" She chuckled and I smiled, proud of myself. "But to be honest, and I know my opinion isn't probably what you're looking for the most right now, I think the shorter hair suits you a lot."
"Y-you do?" She finally turned around to look at me. "They said it would make me look like a heel more, and I would stand out from the other women like that. I'm just afraid it'll make me look even more masculine"
"Well they're right about the heel part to be honest." I smiled. "And yeah, you have the face to rock shorter hair. But who the fucked dared to call you masculine, I'll kill them." I approached her and ran my hand through her hair, changing the style just a little. "It's just that they flattened it on your head to much, so it seems like a big change." Once I was satisfied, I took a step back. "Okay, look at yourself now."
She did, and inspected herself in the mirror for a while, and soon I saw a smile creeping up on her face, enlightening her sharp features.
"You're right, I like it more that way." She smiled brightly at me. "You're a life saver Roxanne."
"At your service my queen" I did some weird royalty lunge, making her erupt in laughter. "Now, since I helped you, I kind of have a favor to ask."
"Mh yeah, ask and I'll see if I shall access to your request" She said with the ugliest British accent ever.
"I'd like to get more muscular." I blurted out. "I absolutely envy your body shape, and I can never get to grow muscle, I just get toned or loose fat."
"You? Envying my shape?" She widened her eyes. "Shouldn't it be the other way around?"
"Oh god please no!" I scoffed. "Okay, what I'm going to say will probably come out the wrong way, but I think muscular women are soooo attractive!" Shit, did I really say that out loud? And is Demi really blushing that hard right now?? "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, I didn't want to make you uncomfortable, I swear!"
"No it's okay, I'm just really flattered." She smiled. "I'm used to being called manly, or unattractive. So that's a good change for once, it felt good, thank you. Especially coming from a woman that's as attractive as you are."
Now was my time to choke on my own fucking oxygen. Did she just said I was attractive? Did the Demi Bennett hit on me? Nah, it was just a friendly compliment, just that, and I'm absolutely not questioning my sexuality at the ripe age of 22.
