"Sorry that I can't believe that anybody ever really
starts to fall in love with me"
Halsey
Our first week of being more than friends, but not girlfriends yet went as smooth as ever. We weren't really more physical than before, but I could feel Demi less tens when she's very close to me. There had been lingering touches then and there, but still nothing that very close friends couldn't do. Our fist Tag Team match was tonight, and we couldn't be more excited. We spent all day training and rehearsing tag team moves, with our opponents for tonight, Daria (Sonya Deville) and Amanda (Mandy Rose). They were recently recruited in the main roster, so having a match against them was a great push for us. It also helped that they were super fun and interesting to work with. They helped us find, and master some tag team moves, and we had one or two real matches. We aren't supposed to win tonight, but It's okay, I don't mind losing to them.
Soon the time to get into our ring gear arrived, and I met Demi right before the gorilla.
"I'm so excited to be wrestling alongside you." I said, jumping up and down to warm up.
"I am as well." She smiled at me. Ever since we had the talk, her smiles were even softer and brighter. "Be safe tonight, alright?"
I nodded, a big grin on my face. Demi made me feel some kind of way, that I wasn't really sure I ever felt before. It felt really refreshing, and I let myself embrace it, without thinking too far ahead. Soon we had to be on the ring, and we wrestled with all our might, for around 10 minutes. Women's matches were fairly long in NXT, and I liked that we were able to show our moves. The beginning of the match went pretty well, but towards the end, one of Mandy's moves on Rhea was kind of botched, and she fell down pretty hard on the mat, her head hitting it first. She was kind of knocked out, and Mandy pinned her. As they left the ring, I rushed to Rhea, since the referee didn't look like he wanted to do his job tonight, and squeezed her hand, the signal they should be using, when they suspect a wrestler has been hurt to severely to continue. She squeezed my hand back a little, and sat up. I could see on her face that she did not feel well, and I helped her up. I got her backstage as fast as possible, and brought her to the medics instantly. The referee for our match was here, getting yelled at by the officials, and I couldn't help but smile to myself.
As Demi got examined, I waited outside anxiously, and was soon joined by Amanda.
"Oh my god you're here!" She rushed to me. "Is she okay? I'm so so so sorry, it was such a dumb mistake!"
"Hey, it's okay, we all make mistakes sometimes." I reassured her, and Demi exited the office soon after. "Oh hey, are you okay? What did they say?"
"Yeah, it's just a minor head injury." She smiled. "I'll just have to rest for a few days, and I'll be fine."
"I'm so glad to hear that!" The small blonde said. "Again Demi, I'm so sorry, but I have to go!"
She ran away like a fury, and I was about to laugh, until I heard Demi let out a deep groan next to me. When I turned around to see her, she was pushed against a wall, her head in her hands.
"Oh shit Demi, are you sure you're fine?"
"Not really, my head's killing me." She sighed. "I hate being a burden, but can we go back to the hotel?"
"Of course, and you're not a burden!" I led her to the locker room, and grabbed both of our bags, handing a large sweater the Demi. "Don't get cold on top of it."
She put the hoodie on, and I led her to the car, supporting her as much as I could. Once she was sat, I grabbed a blanket, and put it on her. I loaded the trunk with our stuff, and got into the driver's seat. The sight of Demi, curled up in a ball, her head buried in her knees broke my heart. I reached the hotel as fast as I could, and helped her into our room. I threw the bags in one corner, and helped her sit on the bed.
"Do you want to take a shower Demi?" I asked, my tone as soft and quiet as I could.
"I know I should, but can I just change and lie down a bit?" She whined. "Fuck I hate being so useless."
"You're not useless Dem's, you're not feeling okay." I reassured her. "And yes of course, I'll get you some paracetamol for your head, and a glass of water, so that you can change without me looking, is that alright?"
"Who said I would mind you looking at me-Ow fuck, my head, alright, I'll stop flirting."
"You're such a dork."
I did as I said, and let her enough time to get changed. When she called me back, I reached her, and gave her the glass of water, and sat next to her, running my hand up and down her back.
"Is there anything else I could do for you?"
"I just, I know we don't do physical contact a lot, but would it be okay if I cuddled you as I rest?" Her voice was as hesitant as ever. "We don't have to, it's just-"
"Yeah, we can totally do that."
I got up to close the curtains, only leaving one slightly open so the room wouldn't be pitch black. I sped up to the bathroom to change into more comfortable clothing as well, and went back to get an ice pack, before laying down on the bed. I just opened my arms, indicating for her to come, and make herself comfortable. She did so, shifting a little so she was on her side, her head against my chest, and an arm wrapped around my torso. I applied the ice pack to the back of her head softly.
"Are you comfy right now?"
The only response I got was a soft humming, that I interpreted as a yes. Then I realized. We were cuddling. And I loved it so fucking much. Of course I wish it had been in better conditions for Demi, but the love I felt, from just her body pressed against mine was indescribable.
