"I've been hearing silence on the other side for way too long"

MGK

" Go on Rox, it'll be okay."

Colby patted my back and gave me a kiss before I knocked on the door, and a deep voice told me to enter. I shyly entered the office and sat where the person indicated me.

" I'm going to introduce myself first, I'm Vince McMahon, chairman of this company." He extended is hand and I shook it. "And you're Roxanne, am I right ?" I nodded. "Alright, we had plans for you to go in ECW, since you seem to have a pretty extreme type of wrestling, but plans just changed." A wave of fear hit me. "Don't worry, by change of plans, I mean that the gimmick we were about to put you in changed. So if you're willing to get your head shaved and wait a bit more to really debut, everything is taken care of." He smiled at me, and I smiled back. "You're a really talented person, I'm happy to count you as one of my employees. So, is everything good with you ?"

" Yeah, everything sounds perfect."

" Perfect, I'll give you some time to read the contract, while I call the bookers." He slided the paper to me. "I'll tell you were to find them right after. "

I read the whole contract, but I have to admit that I don't have that much experience, nothing seems very wrong to me.

" Okay, you can now sign here." He indicated with his finger. "And I'll give you one copy, that's for you to keep. Now, the bookers are waiting for you, when you leave this office, turn left, and you should find a door with the label "bookers" on it." He smiled at me once again. "And I hope to see you again very soon, you're now free to leave, and please stay to enjoy the show tonight, as well as any other night."

I left his office after thanking him thoroughly, and texted Colby to tell him I was going to the bookers. I found the office quite easily, and someone opened the door before I could even knock. I looked around the room to see 3 people I assume were bookers, and someone already at a desk, talking to one of them.

" Hello Roxanne !" The lady said.

And when she called me, the person turned around. Phil, oh joy. Wait, does that mean the infamous gimmick involves him. He smiled like an idiot when he saw me. Well, that was not what I expected. Since he never answered I thought he hated me or something. We started talking with the bookers. Yay my life basically revolves around Punk and straight edge. Okay, let's not complain, I get to work in the greatest wrestling company, I'm not in place to be picky. Once everything was explained, we left the office, and I felt a hand grab my wrist.

" Come on, don't leave like that Roxy." I turned around, ready to yell at him. "We haven't talked in so long, and I'm sorry I couldn't text you, I lost my phone somewhere, and your number alongside it."

" Wait what ?" I asked. "So you mean you never got my text ?"

" What text ?"

" When I learned that I was going to work here I sent you a text, to tell you, and so that we could maybe be friends again." I got my phone out of my pocket to show him the message. "I thought you never responded because you hated me or something."

" Roxanne, quit the bullshit." He hugged me. "I could never hate you, and we never stopped being friends."

He then offered me to go grab a drink, to just sit down, and talk for a moment about all that happened during the time we were apart.

" So, how is Scott doing ?" Phil asked as he sat down with his drink.

" Great I guess. " I shrugged. "His girlfriend just moved in with him, and he will come here in two months, but most likely sooner than that." I sipped from my drink. "And you, still going back and forth with Mickie."

" Oh god no." He chuckled. "That girl is a psycho." He looked down. "And I should have realized that sooner, look, I'm really sorry for what she put you through, I was completely blind and ..."

" It's okay Phil." I cut him. " It's all in the past now, and you were blinded by love. Also, you don't have to be sorry for what she did."

" You're the best, you know that ?" He smiled. "And you, how's your love life doing, last time I saw you you had a guy, is it still going on ?"

" Yeah, I'm still with Colby." I grinned. "I actually moved in with him like a week ago, it still feels unreal."

" Wow, you guys are quick." He raised his eyebrows.

" Well, technically we've been together for a year now, except it's mostly been a long distance thing." He seemed shocked. "When you left for WWE, he was the one to take your room, and it all started from here."

" I'm really happy for you you know." He pat my hand. "Even though I kinda wish I was in Colby's place."

" Phil stop." He looked up, taking away is hand instantly. "You perfectly know the feelings I have, well used to have I hope, for you, and you can't say things like that now."

" Yeah, I'm sorry." He shook his head. "I just, I want us to be like before, when we were friends."

" I can do that." I smiled. "I really missed you Phil."

" I did too."

We decided to leave the coffee and head back to the arena, laughing and chatting together, until I bumped into someone. I apologized and looked up to see Jeff Hardy.

" Oh so all of Phil's friend are not as bad as him." He snickered.

" Don't start Hardy." Phil sighed, and I stood there dumbfounded, not understanding what was going on.

" What are you going to do Brooks anyways ?"

Things were starting to get heated, Phil was clenching his fists, and Jeff's face was tense. I decided to get in between before fists were thrown.

" Wow wow, would you please calm down." I said, as firmly as I could, but without drawing too mush attention. "Wouldn't want to throw a tantrum in the middle of the street right ?"

Jeff just sighed, apologised to me and left.

" What was that about ?" I asked angrily.

"I just." He sighed. "We used to be friends, but then we started this feud together, that is ending in a few weeks, and we just keep getting at each other's throat all the fucking time."

"Oh, so he's the man you're supposed to "save" ?" I asked.

" Yeah, but things aren't that simple." He shrugged. "We didn't always stuck to script, I crossed boundaries and he did too, and now we're here."

He then asked if we could just go back to the arena, and we did, encountering a visibly stressed out Colby.

" Oh, so that is where you were."
