"Hold me close my little Draculove"
Nothing But Thieves
" So you never told me about that 'long story' of yours." He asked cheekily, sipping a bit of his coffee.
" Oh, you really want to hear about that ?" I said embarassed.
" Well, what do you think I invited you for coffee for ?" He teased and I raised an eyebrow. "I'm joking, you don't have to tell if you don't want."
" Not that I don't want, but I didn't think you'd really care." I chuckled.
" I wanna know more about you." He said so gently and with such care I almost fell from my stool.
" O-Okay, well, get ready." I smiled. "It all started I don't even know how many years ago, probably about 4 or 5. I was living in Australia and Phil was as well. We got together during high school, I think he was a Senior and I was a Sophomore. Long story short, we dated for about 2 years, he introduced me to Jiu Jitsu and wrestling a little, and one day, out of nowhere, he disappeared. He had to leave with his family to Chicago, and he never told me about it. Even the last day before he left, he told me 'see you tomorrow'." I sighed at the memory. "And then I never had news from him after that."
" So, how come he's tutoring you now ?" He asked, visibly confused. "Well, if you don't mind me asking."
" One day he came back to Australia and we trained together." I explained. "He literally taught me all I know about wrestling, well, technically. And then he got me an interview with one of the directors in ROH, but I was too young, so he tutored me and yeah." I looked at him. "I think that's the most of it."
He looked at me, and held his hand over mine hesitantly, probably waiting to see if I'd back away. I let his hand over mine, and smiled at him.
" You really are an interesting person, you know ?" He brushed his thumb over my hand and smiled.
" And you, I barely know you ?" I said.
" We've been hanging out and talking for the past two months." He laughed gently. "You do know a lot about me."
" Yeah, I know about the present Colby, but I don't know anything about the Colby of before we met."
" Oh well, there isn't anything interesting about that you know." He blushed.
I pushed a little and he ended up telling me from the most basic things such as his birthday, his brother, and his origins, ongoing to most personal things, like his taste in music, and who he looked up to in life. We ended up talking about music for a good time before going back to the apartment. Scott was waiting for us, full of suspicions.
" Well, look who came back from their date." He winked and I blush.
" Shut up, we're just two grown adults that went for a coffee." Colby shushed him.
"Erm adults not so much. " He teased. "Little Roxanne here may be legal back down, but here she's a baby."
" Would you shut up!" I attacked, laughing.
" Come on, you know I'm just teasing, you guys do whatever you please." He paused for a moment. "As long as you don't suck each other's tongue in front of me, I'm pretty much okay with anything."
" Man, you're gross." I fake gagged. "Hey how about I shut you up on a video game ?"
" You're not shutting me up on any video game ever baby girl." He winked, a smug smile on his face. "But you can always try if you want. Alright, know what, since I'm such a good person, I'll even let you chose what I'm beating you on."
" What about a good ol' game of Guitar Hero." I said, knowing perfectly he couldn't refuse a match.
" You're running straight to your death, but okay."
He started the game, and handed me a guitar. I sat on the couch and Colby sat next to me, a bit close, but far enough so I wouldn't hit him with the neck of the guitar. Scott let me chose the song and I settled for an Avenged Sevenfold one, Buried Alive. It starts off pretty easy, but gets more and more technical by the end. Having played this song a lot with the band, I know each part by heart, on every instrument. We both settled on medium difficulty, and the song started. It felt really great, to be touching an instrument, even though it's not a real one. I gotta admit I was a bit rusty at first, and then it all came back. I saw Scott losing his confidence all along the song. When it finally ended, he almost threw his controller out of frustration.
" How did you do that ?" He almost screamed. "How could you beat me."
" You've played an instrument before right ?" Colby said with a smirk.
" Yeah, before coming here I was in a band for around 3 years maybe ?" I thought. "And I've been playing for way longer than that."
" How come I never knew ?" Scott asked.
" Well, since I don't have my instruments I don't play here, and I don't know if I've ever mentioned it." I shrugged.
" What's the band called ?" He questioned.
" 5 Seconds Of Summer" I answered. "I did mostly covers with them, and one or 2 originals, but now that they have a new lead singer, I think they've been doing a lot of originals. They even mentioned a small Australian tour."
" That's so cool!" Colby exclaimed. " What do you play ?"
" In the band it was mostly vocals and rhythm guitar, but my favorites really are bass and drums."
