-Dang it Alex I shouldn't expect you to always be in danger, but you make it hard to believe when there's a Gyarados nearby.-

&"& You must really worry about her. Can't say I understand. She can be a bit unhinged from what I've seen so far. &"&  -That's putting it mildly. She's still trying to figure out who she is now.

I can't let a little water stop me.- &"& First off, put a lid on that smell of yours, it's making my eyes water. Second, can you even swim? &"&  -I don't think so, but I think I can float, at least in salt water anyway.-

&"& Then you'll be a sitting duck for those Bruxish then. Terrible things, they are. They can be very territorial, and might use their psychic powers to hold you against a sea boulder, or just drown you, and that's only if their not hungry, but worse of all is the noise. &"&

-The noise?- &"& The sound of grinding teeth, but not in your ears. You hear it in your head. It projects the thoughts of maiming you every time it goes on the attack.

The sound alone would cripple most sea folks of any resolve they have. &"&  >o< I know, I hate that noise so much. >O<

-Do you normally talk like that?- Aye, but only if I be recounting sea shanties, and tales from the deep. I am but a land lubber me self. &"& >O< Hey don't ignore me! Hey! >O<

-.....- &"& Oh, sorry. Anyway, I won't be taking you across the water like I did with her. It took a lot out of me to hold my breath for that long, especially for the return trip back here.&"&

-Guess I'll try my best. I wish Lapras was still here. Who knows where she went now.- &"& Might I suggest clinging to driftwood, and pedaling? Perhaps the water pokemon will mistake you for floating vegetation. Most of them are carnivores in these waters.&"&

-Thanks I'll consider it. (Wait a minute, mostly? I guess I'll find out later.)- >O< Hey, come back here. >O<

Meanwhile...

Find anything yet? '"Weird of you to ask me for once, but no, I see two humans nearby, but they don't appear to be trainers. Didn't know Tourist came out this far, it's kind of refreshing."'

I roll my eyes. Just help me find some driftwood ,or something. If we string enough pieces together, we could build a raft, and get back. (I find a few sticks, but nothing big enough to support my weight. I getting frustrated until finally, I have the dumbest plan yet.)

I have an idea! '"Ooo, ooo! What is it? what is it?! Did you see a pokemon we could maybe ride on?"'

Nope, but I have the next best thing. You see that shovel over there? I point to the red shovel in the sand. '"Yyyyesss?"'

Well how about we make a bridge of sand to to get across the gulf, or what ever this route is. '"Alex, do you even have the patience to move millions of tons of sand?"' Oh good point, maybe you're right for once. '" Excuse me? It's not like the sand would stick anyway."'

Right? I mean really, that shovel is way too...small? Uhhh, where did the shovel go? '"What are you talking about, it's clearly ri...right? Right, Uhhhh..."'

/^\ Looking..for this? /^\ '"Aaahh!"' Kyaaahh! Don't scare us like that! What even are you? ( I look down to see the mound of sand come to life, with beady grey pebble eyes, and a gaping sandy mouth.

The tip of the red shovel still firmly embedded in it's scalp. It's eyes look like they are surrounded by a mask of wet sand. There was something weird about this pokemon that gave me the creeps. I just couldn't put my finger on it.)
