Chapter 22.

"What happened, Kion?" Nala asked softly, as Kion only looked off to the side, rolling his eyes.

"Nothing. Where is Kopa and Vitani?" Kion asked.

"Uh, I'm not sure actually. We left the lake about an hour ago. The Outlands, I think." Kiara answered.

"What?" Kion asked, "But, I ran into Kovu when Savannah tried chasing him into the Outlands. But, I managed to get him away. He made up an excuse to Zira, about him, Vitani, and Kopa not being there for about a whole day! But, that was 10 minutes ago..." Kion mumbled.

"So... then where are they?" Kiara asked, worried, "We've gotta find them!"

"Calm down. I am sure they can take care of themselves." Nala said.

"No, they can't! Not, if the patrol spots them." Kion said.

"Kion, I'm sure they will be fine." Nala said.

"I hope your right. But, I have got another patrol with Dj now, so I'll keep an eye out for them." Kion said, before running off.

Kion looked around, while sitting on a small cliff edge.

"Hey." Kion quickly stood up and spun round, sighing in relief when realising it was just Dj, as he gave a small, weak smile.

"Hey Dj. You ready to get this patrol over and done with?" Kion asked, as Dj nodded with a smile, while the two lions started walking.

"I'm sorry." Dj spoke up, as Kion turned to look at her.

"For what?" Kion asked.

"For not helping you when you were in well you know... with your Dad. It's just that..." Kion sighed.

"He's your King. I understand that, you can't do anything." Kion said, "But, I don't need help."

"Kion, you may act tough, but... you are still kind of a kid." Dj said, wording her sentance carefully, "But, I'm always here if you need anything."

Kion looked down in thought, before carrying on walking ahead.

"Wait, Kion!" Dj shouted, "I know you are hiding something, and whatever it is I promise you, you can trust me. You will always be my Prince."

"I'm not a Prince, Dj." Kion said, sighing, before slowly looking upto Dj. He knew he could trust her, but could he trust her enough for her to not tell his Father?

"Can I... trust you to not tell my Father?" Kion asked quitly.

"Of course, you can! I'm only in his Pride because everybody knows that a loner can't survive by there selves. Just like you! I'm always here if you need help." Dj said, as Kion gave a deep breath.

"I'm not by myself, Dj..." Kion muttered, as Dj gave a raised eyebrow, "We will finish this patrol, then I'll tell you everything, or better yet... showing."

Kion started jogging ahead, as Dj sighed and followed.
