Kopa, Kovu and Vitani was walking through the Outlands after training, heading to there spot beside the Pridelands, when they heard seom squarks.
"Vultures." Kovu growled, causing the two eldest to turn around to look at the sky, seeing about 5 vultures circling.
"Vultures only ever circle something when there hunting. But, there isn't anything to hunt in the Outlands." Vitani explained.
"Let's go check it out." Kopa muttered, before they started of into a sprint, just jumping up onto a rock and looking down, they were shocked at what they saw.
They saw Kion lying there, he seems out of it, but he was snarling and trying to defend himself, but he seemed to not be able to stand.
The Vultures kept on comeing down one by one, pecking him, but Kion kept on swiping his paw at them, growling, when a vulture was going for the head, he whimpered when he set out a paw and quickly curlced in on himself.
Kopa was first to react, and jump from the rock, roaring and jumping into the air to catch the vulture, who got away with a scratch on the wing, Kopa was stood above Kion snarling, dareing anybody else to attack.
The Vultures flew away, while Kovu and Vitani went and checked onto Kion.
"Kopa?" Kion muttered, his throat was dry and voice was hoarse.
"Where are you hurt?" Kopa asked softly, and Kion coughed once more, before turning away from them all.
"So-Sorry, I just- It was the only way to get out of the flames." Kion stuttered.
"Flames? Where's the Guard?" Kovu asked, and Kion didn't look at him once.
"There was a fire. . . at the Grove, I had the Guard on a diffrent task of putting the fire out, but I was checking the South side and found a deer. But, I had to jump into the Outlands when a tree fell infront of me." Kion explained, before slowly sitting up.
"Wouldn't the Guard be looking for you?" Vitani asked.
"That depends if the fires out first. Even if I am not there, I make sure the task is done before doing anything else." Kion said, looking towards the Pridelands, seenig the smoke in the air.
"Kion!" They all heard shouted.
"Kion, this isn't funny!"
"Kion, get your fury butt out here!"
Kion coughed more.
"Hey, it's okay. Just, relax. I will tell them." Kopa said.
"You can't be seen." Kion muttered, "Just a sec."
Kion slowly stood up on wobbly legs before he went to let out a roar, but stopped half way through, coughing and he collapsed, Kovu catching him.
"Kion, we need to get you somewhere more secure." Kovu stated, and it wasn't a suggestion.
The three lions started leading Kion over to there usual place, and set him down underneath a rock ledge, where Kion gladly lay still for once, resting his chin on his front paws.
Kopa, Kovu and Vitani was talking in hushed voices in the corner and away from Kion.
"We should go get the Guard. Tell them that he's safe." Kovu whispered.
"But, is the Outlands really a safe place?" Vitani said, as if it was obvious.
Kopa sighed.
"I mean. . . with Zira starting to patrol this area, she has a point. Maybe we should take him back?"
"What?! So, you wanna give up on him! it is far to obvious that his Father hurts him! And, you wanna take him back to that life style!" Kovu suddenly screamed, causing Kion to stirr.
