Chapter 23.

"Hey, what did you want to show me?" Dj asked. They had just finished patrol, after 2 hours of patrolling.

"Follow me." Kion said, before walking away from the cliff edge, as Dj ran after him.

Kion took a deep breath before walking through the vines, Dj being hestant and quickly followed, walking beside Kion, until he stopped. Looking around, he saw two liones, onw was walking over, before nuzzleing Kion then looking at Dj, while Vitani glared at her.

Kion growled at Vitani, as she then growled at him.

"What happened to not letting no one knowing!" Vitani shouted.

"Vitani." Kopa wanred, while Kion just snarled, "Kion."

"Whatever." Kion mumbled.

"Kion?" Dj questioned, as Kion walked infront of her.

"Dj, this is Kovu, Vitani and then my brother, Kopa. And, guys this is Dj." Kion said.

"Still. You said nobody can know about Kopa." Vitani snarled, while standing up and approuching Kion who only barred his teeth.

"Well, I trust Dj." Kion growled, "And, if you have a problem with that you can take it up with me."

Vitani growled.

Dj then looked between the two.

"Kion." Kopa said sternly, "Vitani, stop winding him up."

"Wait, is this the Kopa... who was presumed dead?" Dj asked.

"That's me." Kopa said, giving a slight smile, "Hey Dj."

"You guys know each other?" Kion asked.

"Uhm, not really. But, me and Dj would always talk with each other, when you were little. That's why she says she will do anything for you and that you will always be her Prince." Kopa said, with a smile.

"It's good to have at least another girl around. It gets boring with these boys all day." Vitani said, smirkng at Dj who smirked back, as Kion glared at her and snarled.

"Hey! Don't say that about your own brother." Kovu snarled.

"Wait, Kopa doesn't that mean you are in Zira's Pride?" Dj asked.

"I am in her Pride. Well, kinda. I hate her." Kopa snarled, looking at Kion who only sighed, his ears perking forward as he sniffed the air.

"Smoke..." Kion mumbled.

"What?" Kovu asked, them all looking at Kion seeing him jumping up on a rock, then looking around frantcially, managing to at least see the Pridelands from there, before his eyes widened.

"Kion, what--?" Dj got cut off.

"Fire!" Kion shouted, jumping down, and running out of the vines.

"Kion, wait!" Dj shouted, snarling, looking to the others, "I'll go after him."

Dj ran after Kion, as they jumped onto a rock.

"Where did this fire even come from!" Dj shouted.

"No idea, but there's no time to find out!" Kion shouted, before jumping down from the cliff and towards the flames.

"Kion!" Dj shouted, before groaning and chasing after tht young Prince, as they started digging abit away from the flames, to make sure the flames didn't get any further, when the Guard suddenly ran over.

"Kion! What do you need us to do?" Fuli asked.

"Fuli, and Beshte I need you two to help dig around the flames, while Ono and Bunga I want you to try and put the flames out with the dirt." Kion explained, before ONo nodded as well as Bunga before starting to throw dirt at said flames, while Kion jumped over the hole what he had made so far to go and help his two friends.

Kion quickly started kicking dirt at the flames, as he yelped when one of the flames burnt his paw.

"Kion!" Bunga shouted.

"I'm fine! But, we can't let these flames get any further!" Kion said, before looking around at hearing an animal in distress, looking to Ono, "Ono! Make sure none of the animals are near here."

Ono nodded and flew up into the air, while Kion and Bunga jumped by Dj, Fuli, and Beshte to help them dig.

"Kion!" Ono shouted, while landing beside Kion, "There's a Antelope herd not far from here, and then a Zebra's herd stuck in the flames!"

Just then Kion heard shouts from behind the fire.

"You guys go and get the Antelopes away from here! I've got the Zebra's." Kion said.

"But, Kion--!"

"Just go!" Kion shouted, cutting Fuli of while he jumped over the hole he dug and jumped over the flames, stopping just in time or he would be on fire, backing up he was panting as he quickly went round the flames, to find the Zebra herd there, running around widely.

"Hey!" Kion shouted, but they were panicked, as he growled, gaining there attenion, "Follow me! I'm getting you all to safety."

Kion started walking around the flames, as the Zebra's slowly followed along, Kion the whimpered when a flame appeared right infront of his face, makeing him to cough.

"Just-Just abit longer!" Kion shouted, before panting he walked abit more, before stepping to the side, "Go!"

Kion roared, as the Zebra's all ran out of the flames, Kion makeing sure they all got out.

"Kion!" Kion was panting, as he quickly jumped out of a way of a flaming branch landing on his head, taking deep breaths he stood up and quickly got to the safety behind the hole.

"Kion!" Kion turned seeing the Guard and Dj running over to him, "You're burnt."

"Well, I did you go into flames." Kion said, shrugging still panting.

The Guard was looking at Kion and he knew exactly what they were thinking, when they looked to Dj.

"Guys, fine. I'll go to my brother, and yes Dj does know him and Kovu and Vitani." Kion said, walking past them, as they all looked at Dj who followed Kion, the Guard soon following before walking through the vines.

"Kion!" Kopa shouted, running to his brother and nuzzleing him, as Kion whimpered slightly when he put preasure onto his paw.

Vitani walked over and bent down to have a porper look at Kion's paw.

"He'll survive. He is just abit dehaydrated." Vitani said, while they all sighed in relief.

"Well, duh! I could of told you that myself! It's just a little burn." Kion snarled, as Kopa looked up.

"We should start getting back to the Outlands, Zira may be wondering why we aven't been around soon." Kopa said.

"Augh! I've got stupid training." Kovu said, as Kion chuckled weakly.

"I always hated training when I was younger! If you want I can train you. It will probally be better if you're up for a challenge?" Kion said, as Kovu smirked.

"Always up for a challenge!" Kovu said, as Kopa was going to butt in but Vitani stopped him.

"We need to get going now." Kopa said, not liking Kovu any where near his brother, as Kion sighed.

"I'll see you guys tommorow. If I can." Kion said, before nuzzling Kopa, Kovu and Vitani smiling before the two siblings and Kopa started running towards the Outlands without being seen.

"We should start getting back as well, before anybody notices us missing." Kion said, as him and Dj both started running towards Pride rock, while the guard went to there own homes.
