Chapter 36.

Kion yawned, while he stretched his two front paws out infront of him. Looking around, he noticed he was in the Pridelands, in the lion Guard lair.

Then the event of the night before came flooding back.

'I kissed him.' Was all what was running through Kion's mind, and he deeply regret it. He didn't regret the kiss, he loved Kovu, but what if Kovu didn't feel the same way? Would things be. . . diffrent? Between the two of them?

Kion's head turned to the mouth of the Cave, when he heard laughter.

"Kion! Hey!" It was the lion guard, Kion only nodded.

"Where have you been?" Bunga asked.

"Right." Kion sighed, "Sorry Guys, for not being on patrol alot lately. But, we can go now!"

"Hey, Kion, it's okay. We understand alot is happening with you at the moment, but you don't have to join us if you're not upto it." Fuli said, "I'm okay to take the reigns for a few more days."

"No, it's okay, really! I'm okay." Kion said, jumping down from the rock he was laying down on, "Let's go."

Kiara had managed to get away from Simba and jumped down into the Outlands.

"Hey Guys." Kiara said, seeing Vitani, Kovu and Kopa, although Kovu looked. . . distracted?

"Hey Kiara." Kopa said.

"Kiara, you seen Kion?" Kovu suddenly asked, and they all looked at him weirdly.

"He hasn't been here?" Kiara asked, and they all shook his head, "He didn't come into the den last night. I saw him walking about, but. . . he wouldn't come inside."

After abit, they all just sat on the border of the Outlands, when they saw something. . .

"What is that?" Vitani asked, squinting her eyes in hope to get a better look.

"Not sure. Maybe we should go check it out." Kopa said, getting to his feet, while the other three followed.

"If we stick to the border, we will be able to get there and back, unseen. Kion will kill me if you guys get caught." Kiara said, as they all started running to the scene.

The Lion Guard was patrolling, when they all stopped upon hearing animal cries.

"You guys hear that?" Beshte asked.

"Hey, Ono! Mind taking a look?" Kion asked, and said bird flew up high into the sky, while the rest of them started walking again.

"Kion! Kion!" Ono came back moments later, and landed onto Beshte's back, them all stopping to look at him, "There's a mud slide. Some eggs are gonna get submerged!"

"On it." Kion said, before all of them started running.

They all arrived at the mud slide just in time.

"Fuli, gather up all of Mbunis!" Kion shouted over to her, "Beshte, try to protect the eggs, Bunga help him. Ono, you're our eyes in the sky!"

They all went of to do there tasks, while Kion observed.

Kiara, Kovu, Kopa, and Vitani all jumped behind a rock, before getting sighted, and peaked over it.

"The Lion guard." Kiara muttered. They saw all of the lion guard, trying to help some animals out of the way of the mud slide.

"Kion!" Ono came flying down, and then they all noticed Kion who jumped onto a rock, mud covering him, "Some Zebras are going to get covered! They won't listen to me!"
