Kion and his siblings

Chapter 10.

Kion yawned, as he he sniffed the air slightly. His eyes shooting open, as he looked around frantically at the scent of smoke. He had gotten home late last night.

Kion shot up and ran to the edge of the pride rock and over looked the Pridelands, seeing herds gazing, but on the farthest side was smoke. Kion could see the flames, as he quickly jumped down from Pride rock and took of running towards that side, what was near the Pridelands but ti couldn't cross the border since there was nothing to burn there.

"Kion!" Fuli shouted, when Kion approuched the fire, "What do we do? Its spreading to quickly!"

"Create a fire break! Fuli you work over towards the elephant ground, while Bunga you and Beshte work to the furthest right, Ono you scout an area for the herds to get to safety, I'll take this side. Go!" Kion ordered, as they all nodded and broke off.

Kion quickly ran away from the flames and stopped a good distance away to start digging.

"Kion! Kion!" Ono shouted, flying down to land onto Kion's back, "The fires moving to quickly, it's heading towards the herds!"

Kion looked to the guard who was coughing and trying to dig faster, then seeing the flames moving fast towards them, he put his ears down before huffing.

"Get the Guard. We need to get those animals to safety!" Kion said, as Ono took flight.

Kion saw the Guard running towards him, as they stopped before him.

"Right. Ono, look for a safe path! Fuli, you get all of the herds together, and stay clear of the smoke!" Kion shouted, as Ono flew up, while Fuli sped of towards the Herds, the Guard following as Kion coughed and ran after them.

"Turn left!" Ono shouted, as they all turned, Fuli keeping the herd going faster, as they came to a cannon, "This is our only way cross, we have to jump!"

After a few minutes of running, they all were still running, when Kion heard a shout. He turned his head, onlt to skid to a stop.

"Kion! Come on!" Fuli shouted, also stopping.

"There a Antelope still in there!" Kion shouted, stepping forward.

"Kion, I'll go get him." Fuli said.

"No, I will. You guys need to stay and keep that herd moving! Don't hold up." Kion said, as the guard was hestant but ran to the herd once Kion shouted, "Go!"

Once the guard was far away, Kion took of running towards the fire, he skidded to a stop when seeing no way over, under, or through the flames. He paced down, as he saw a opening and jumped over the flames running through them, he skidded to a stop beside the antelope.

"Come on!" Kion shouted, as he ran along side this antelope out of the flames, as he turned round he saw the Atenlope running away from the flames, and to his Herd. He sighed, as he went into a coughing fit.

Kion whimpered, when one of the flames burnt him. He shook his head when he started to feel dizzy, he looked around but his eyes stopped on the Outlands. He didn't know those parts! He always stuck to the bits where Vitani, Kovu, and Kopa always were.

Kion looked around, and whimpered more upon the flames closing in on him, breathing heavily, he ran forwards, diving over the top of the flames, but skidded down the wall and into the Outlands, his breath wasn't even, as he groaned and whimpered.

Kion looked around, while scrambling to his feet, his mouth was dry, as he licked his lips, his ears were back, as he started walking through the Outlands, sighing as he saw the burnt left overs of that bit of the Pridelands.

Kion perked his head up at hearing somebody step on a branch, ducking behind a rock he tried evening his breathing out.

"He's here somewhere." He heard a voice snarl, as Kion snarled when seeing Zira, as he stumbled slightly he knew he couldn't fight her at the moment, so he ducked behind another rock and started sprinting away from that area.

Kion whimpered, when he suddenly bumped into someone. Slowly opening his eyes, he looked up, shaking his head his vision all fuzzy, while he saw the image of Vitani come into place, he saw Kopa and Kovu behind her.

"You should watch it." Vitani snarled, as that anrgy glint in her eyes disappeared at seeing Kion shaking his head, his fur had turned black from the smoke and ash of the flames, and with a few burns on his paws.

"Kion?" Kovu questioned, "Are you okay?"

"Lilttle bro." Kopa said, while helping Kion up, as he still was breathing heavily.

"I-I need to get back into the Pridelands." Kion said, his voice raspy as he coughed and looked around.

"Woah, maybe you should relax." Kovu said, "Theres some water over there. The cleanest in the Outlands, go have some, sure sounds like you need it more then we do. Looks like you got in a fight with fire."

Kion ignored Kovu's comment, and shook his head while his eyes landed on the bordor of the outlands. He started walking towards there.

"Woah, maybe you should relax?" Kopa asked, as Kion shook his head.

"You need mask my scent. Zira knows I'm here and if she knows I have been near the place you're scent is, she would kill you." Kion said, "I need to get back. There was a fire, need to make sure the Herd and Guard is safe."

"Hey, I'm sure they are fine. You would of never picked those animals on that guard if you didn't think they would be good protecters." Kopa said, as Kion just ignored him and climbed up into the Pridelands, "Hey, how about we join you?"

"What if somebody sees you?"

"Well, I still can smell and see the Smoke up there, it will make sure we are covered." Kovu spoke up, as Kion sighed, so Kovu, Kopa, and Vitani all jumped out of the Pridelands and started walking further into the Pridelands, Kion coughing as he sucked in the smoke.

"Stay low." Kion whispered to Kopa, Vitani, and Kovu, "And close."

The three lions followed the golden lion, looking around.

"Kion!" Kion perked his head up and stopped, he looked back to see Kopa, Kovu, and Vitani was a few meters behind him, looking around. The three lions looked to Kion, who looked at the rock beside them, so the three ducked behind it.

"Kion! Thank god." Kion heard somebody say, as he turned back around seeing the guard, he coughed and gave a weak smile.

"Hey. How's the Herd? Did you get them to safety?" Kion asked.

"Ugh. We loose you in the flames, because you went to rescue an antelope in the flames, and you are questioning whather the herd is safe?" Fuli questioned, as Kion nodded so she sighed, "There fine. We got them across the river."

"You should go see Rafiki about these, Kion." Ono said, landing onto Kion's back and looking at his burns.

"There just little burns." Kion said, seeing the worried faces of his friends so he sighed, "Fine. If it makes you feel better, I will go see Rafiki. But, make sure the fires out completely, and keep an eye on it."

The Guard nodded, then ran away towards the part of the Pridelands what was on fire, as Kovu, Kopa, and Vitani jumped out of hiding.

"You guys should get back." Kion said, turning to look to them, as they nodded, "The smoke and ash is starting to clear up."

Kion kicked some ash what went sideways.

"What caused this fire?" Kopa asked.

"I'm not sure. I need to go do some digging to find out. But, while I'm at Rafiki he might know." Kion said, "Now, you guys should get back now. I'll see you later."

Kion watched as the three lions walked back towards the Outlands, before running towards Rafikis tree.
