Shirou POV

It was lunch and I was eating with my friends whose names were Daichi Kotetsu, Kenzo Kiyama, and Hakaku Nakaya. We were talking about various things until one of them, Kenzo Kiyama, asked me, “Shirou, what’s the deal between you and Hayasaka?” I twitched from his sudden question. Hakaku and Daichi looked at me seriously after hearing what Kenzo had to say. From the back of the room, I could feel Hayasaka listening in on our conversation.

“Wh-what do you mean, Kenzo?” I asked startled, “Me and Hayasaka are just acquaintances. We’ve hung out sometimes and that’s just about it.”

“Stop playing dumb, Shirou,” Daichi interjected, “We all know that something is going on between the two of you. Also, outside of the three of us, you don’t have many friends. If the two of you guys' relationship is something enough for you to lie about it, it must be something big. You like her or something?” I felt my face grow slightly red. If we continued this conversation here, Hayasaka would surely hear everything, not to mention who else was listening in on our conversation.

“Follow me, guys,” I said as I got up from my seat. I led the gang to an empty classroom and we all took a seat at various desks.

“Remember, the information that is shared inside this room, stays inside the room, alright?” All of them agreed.

“So basically… I do like Hayasaka.” Right after I said this Kenzo bursted out laughing. We all looked at him strangely as he chuckled out these few words, “Of all the girls in the school, you fall for the one you can’t pull!” Daichi slapped Kenzo across the face and then said, “What our beloved friend here means to say is, you have zero chance of dating Hayasaka.”

“Couldn’t you have watered it down a little bit?” I asked Daichi.

“No, I have to give you the cold hard truth.”

“Mm-hmm. Many have confessed to Hayasaka and none have ever succeeded.” Hakaku chimed in, “Even Shindou Watabe tried his luck and failed and that man has infinite rizz despite being so ugly.”

“Oh… really?” I said as I slumped down into my chair.

“O-oh, wait though, if it’s you Shirou, then you might at least have a small chance. Not to mention that you have the support of the three of us!” Kenzo said while putting his arms around Daichi and Hakaku who nodded in agreement. “In fact, I even have a plan!” Kenzo motioned that we get into a huddle which we all did get into.

“Ok, first of all, based on what I’ve seen from the two of you, you have a decent chance of Hayasaka accepting you if you confess to her. The only problem is-” Kenzo started.

“If she sees you as a mere friend or a potential partner.” Hakaku finished.

“Yup.” Daichi agreed.

“And I know the easiest way to figure it out! The plan goes like this, we all try our best to swoon her!” Kenzo said.

“Bro what?” Hakaku asked, confused.

“I’m not trying to steal your girl or anything right now Shirou, it's just this is the most reasonable way of the action! If Hayasaka blushes or reacts embarrassed to us in any way, it’ll show that she sees just about anyone as a potential partner but-”

“If she only reacts to you in an embarrassed or flustered way, then it would look like she only sees you as one.” Daichi finished.

“Wow, I can’t believe I’m saying this but… you’re a genius Kenzo,” I said.

“It’s my secret talent to be smart when it matters most,” Kenzo said smugly.

“Alright, all in favor of Kenzo’s surprisingly brilliant plan, say, ‘aye’” Daichi said.
