Love,

I really don't understand the people who take advantage of you. Ariel was telling me how absolutely in love with Jessie was while we were hanging out last night. Apparently they've been together for over a year kinda on and off and that he had cheated on her multiple times before, that's why they were on and off for so long. But she kept taking them back because it felt like fate. I think her logic was "if he keeps coming back it must be meant to be" when in reality it just felt like he was manipulating her into being dependent on him. She told me that every time he came back there was some grand gesture that just made her swoon and think everything was going to be okay but after a while he got back to his old ways and started cheating and not spending time with her and just overall not being a partner to her anymore. I'm just amazed how I interpreted a completely different person. That's how narcissists work though I guess. I just can't fathom how somebody would encounter something so amazing like you and uproot it, kill it from the very origins which it came from and ruin the possibility of reigniting the fire that was drowned out by lies. There is a hatred in that action, not what others perceive as the opposite of you but a stronger version of you fueled by negativity. I feel that that is a very common understanding, that love and hate are polar opposites. I argue that they are two sides of the same coin, awaiting the wrong flip to determine the actions that are outwardly displayed. People who cheat, in my opinion, are so desperately seeking something in another person that they simply cannot find within themselves. The person who they are constantly hurting is the one who they care about most but they can't stand the self taught thought that they aren't enough for that person. So they cheat, and they look so desperately for the part of themselves that they are missing so much, even though they aren't even sure what it is that they are missing. In the grand scheme of things maybe I just sound crazy, but then again maybe I sound that way because you are denying the truth behind my words in which you subconsciously relate.
