I groan, rubbing my eyes to adjust to the bright light that is blinding me. I remove my head from what it feels like somebody's lap, sitting upright in alert that I'm in a moving car. What the hell happened?
"You ever worn skinny jeans? It seems wrong. I'm all bunched up. Also, why are jeans so tight when phones are so big?" Kai questions, causing me to look at him confused as he pulls a phone out of his pocket.
"I don't know what to tell you, pal." The driver dryly replies.
"Oh, God. I'm that guy, right? That guy that won't shut up. Oh, I hate that guy. I just sat next to that guy on the plane. He was the worst. Hey. Speaking of planes, have you flown recently? Because what's with the whole liquid situation and the stripping before you go through security thing? It's weird." He rambles on, glancing at me every now and then, making me look out the window.
Where the hell are we?
Where's Bonnie?
He didn't leave her behind, did he?
"They're worried about terrorists." The driver answers.
"Well, I'm sorry, but the real terrorists are some of those people taking off their shoes." Kai scoffs and I run a hand through hair, trying to calm myself down. "I know I'm chatty. Sorry. I've just been in prison for awhile. Not like a regular prison, you know, more like a..."
"Where the hell are we Kai?" I finally speak up, interrupting him.
"Home, baby." He flashes me a smile, making me roll my eyes before I look over at the driver.
"Good to see you're finally awake, thought for a second you were dead." The driver states, looking over his shoulder to look at me.
"It sure feels like I am." I mumble under my breath, while turning to face Kai. "But someone will be dead in a second because Bonnie better..."
"All right. We're here." The driver cuts me off, bringing the car to a stop in front of an unknown park. "That will be 30."
"All right. Jeans." Kai sighs, reaching into his pocket as he searches through them. "Uh, will you take this?" He hands a one dollar bill to the driver. "Hang on. I got it. Oh. Gum. Nice." He smiles, popping the gum into his mouth.
"You know I can always..." I start but the driver once again cuts me off.
"Come on, buddy. I don't have all day. Let's go." The driver complains, looking at us through the rear mirror.
"I got it. Hold on." Kai chews his gum, searching inside his jean pocket again. "Huh. Well... I guess this will do." He holds out his earphones, leaning forward to the driver, making me give him a confused look.
Suddenly, he wraps the earphones around the drivers neck, trying to strangle the driver to death, who tries to resist it. I quickly pull Kai away from the driver, breaking the earphones at the movement.
I grab the driver's face and make him look me directly into my eyes. "You never met me or this dumbass. You will not remember anything from this day. Go home, find a scarf and put it around your neck. Take the day off." I compel the driver, making him nod slightly as he turns back to look at the street with an emotionless face.
Kai opens the taxi door and walks out with me right behind. "Thank you." He leans in the side view mirror of the taxi, not letting go of my hand, leading us away from the car to the popular 'Whitmore Campus'.
"Kai, where's Bonnie?" I cross my arms over my chest.
"Well, at this time she woke up and realised she's alone." He shrugs, making a move to walk away but I grab him and push him against the taxi with murder on my mind. "Hold on, princess, we can still get her out."
