Emma's Pov

I pace side to side at the sudden information I received and at this exact minute I don't know if I should be angry, disappointed or worried about where the four of them could be. "How are they missing? We've been only stepped away to talk in this office for two hours!" I point out, turning to look at a stressful Caroline. "Care, you do know Mira's friend is human, right?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know they were here and I don't know how neither Alaric and I didn't see them." She sincerely apologies and I give her a small nod as if saying it's not her fault.

"She had a cloaking and invisibility spell on them. Only you and Ric couldn't see them." I tell her, making her smile up at me for a moment before she frowns again.

"She's smart."

"Too smart." I retort.

She sighs, standing up from the couch before giving me a quick embrace. "We'll find them. For all we know they took off two hours ago, they can't be too far away." Caroline points out.

"I'm going to kill that boy." I hear Klaus mutter under his breath and I roll my eyes at him.

"You're not killing anyone." I give a pointed look.

"They took off with these boys who we don't know. They could be in danger." He fires back at me with anger on his voice. I know that he's going to blame me for not keeping a closer eye on them.

"Look, I checked on them before we came into this office. Hope was in bed asleep, Miracle was talking to Andre whilst packing for us to leave." I inform as he stands and starts pacing the office, while Caroline leans against her desk with her arms crossed.

I sigh, sensing his anger as Caroline speaks. "We can't pinpoint their location yet, but they seem to be heading somewhere outside of New Orleans."

"So they're coming home. Why?" He questions as I frown at her words, tilting my head to the side in confusion.

"You can ask when we find them." I conclude, grabbing my jacket and heading for the car outside. "You coming or not, Nik?" I call out and within a second, we enter the car and start driving down the deserted roads.

###########

It's been a few hours since the two of us have been in the car, waiting for Caroline to text me the address of where they are. Currently, we stopped at a convenience store because there's no point of driving if we don't know what direction to go.

I walk off the store with tea on my hand and I hurry over to Nik, who's  leaning on the side of the car. "Care just texted. Her tracking class should be finding them soon. We'll have a location any minute now."

I hand him one of the teas I bought and he gently takes it from my hand. "So what, we just wait here and sip rancid diner coffee?"

"Jokes on you, it's tea." I point out, making him crack a sly smile and I join him. "You can think about what you'll say when you see them. Or more importantly, what you won't say. It'll be tempting to lash out, but you'll regret it later." I tell him, knowing that it's for the best not to be angry at them and give them an opportunity to explain themselves.

"You know, you have a lot to answer for, and not just for losing our daughters-." I cut him off, turning to look at him with a knowing look.

"They're not lost-." he cuts me off this time.

"After all your haranguing to be a better father, become more engaged." I roll my eyes at his words, not giving it any importance because I was just trying to give him advice.
