I sit on the couch, draining my forth blood bag down and at the same time I finish the bag, Nik comes in with a concerned look still on his face since I passed out.

"Can I get you anything else, angel?" He tucks some hair behind my ear as he kneels beside the bed and I turn my head to look at him.

"I'm fine, Nik." I tell him but he gives me a pointed look, knowing fully well that I'm actually not. "I mean, I wouldn't mind some more blood."

He smiles up at me. "Well, I'll go fetch some more. Now I'd like you to stay here... where I can protect you and see you. No going out." He demands with a serious look and I only nod in agreement, not wanting to go out anyway. "Love, I want you to know... about what happened..."

When I see him struggle to find the right words he wants to say, I smile at him and cut him off by taking his hand on mine. "Hey, forget it. It's not your fault. None of it." I say, mentioning about what Aurora did to me and Cami. He nods at me, kissing my hand before I open my mouth to speak again. "I have to ask... Right before you showed up, did you hear what Aurora and I were talking about?"

He looks down at his feet, letting go of my hand. "Your feelings for Kai?" He pauses for a moment before he looks at me with a smirk. "I've already compelled some people to go and kill him." He jokes but when he sees the look on my face at the mention of killing Kai, his expression changes. "Sorry, I know you cared for him."

"I know you cared for Cami too." I give him a sympathetic look. "Where is she?"

He let's out a long sigh. "No one knows. She woke up and ran away. Just like Aurora... when I find her I-." I cut him off.

"Just... just don't kill anyone for me, please." I plead him because if anyone is going to kill Aurora for what she did, it's going to be me.

He chuckles at my comment. "I'll do anything for you." When those words leave his mouth I grin at him, knowing fully well that he would do anything for me. God knows how much I love him. "Now, I want to show you something." He picks me up from the bed in a bridal style manner and vamp speeds me to the middle of the compound.

I gasp as I see all of the Christmas celebrations, not realising that Christmas is almost here. Oh my god, Caroline is going to kill me for not having called her.

He sits me down on a armchair in the courtyard, and I admire the huge Christmas tree in the middle of the room that is engulfed with white lights and gold and red baubles. I watch as some compelled girl cuts herself and pours the blood into a cup, handling it to me with a smile.

Yep, definitely compelled.

"You went full Christmas spirit!" I comment with a cheery tone, making him laugh.

"I just want the best for my family." He tells me, before getting a glass of blood from the same women. "You seem better." He points out and I nod. Blood does wonders to vampires.

"Yeah. I feel better." I take a long sip of my drink before looking over at his figure. "Why didn't you go with Elijah to help Bekah? I hope it's not to stay and babysit me."

Nik looks slightly ashamed for a moment as he glances sheepishly around the room, making me shake my head. Of course he stayed to babysit me. "It's not a good idea for him and I to spend hours together in confined spaces, given that the prophecy foretells one family member felled by another. And I just wanted to make sure nothing happens to you." He confesses and I can tell that he is worried.

"He wouldn't hurt you, like you wouldn't hurt him." I tell him, trying to wash his worries away but I can tell that he's scared that I'm wrong.

"I hope you're right."
