Blankly, I stare at the livelihood outside of the compound, birds singing in harmony while the wind whispers sweet things to the content people that are walking on the street, laughing with no worries about the tomorrow.

With dry tears on my cheeks and no emotions dancing on my veins, I glance at the person I wish I was, the one I envy to become, the one with no problems ever.

I hug my legs as I place them on the chair that I'm sitting at. "Unlike the father of her children she prefers to fight her demons alone." I listen to Elijah speak from downstairs.

Since yesterday I haven't talked to anyone at all, many tried to come up to my room and knocked maybe a couple thousand times but I didn't even bother to tell them to go away.

"Only you can understand her pain right now, brother." Freya adds on with a small sigh of her own.

"We lost our child." I close my eyes at his words, remembering all of the events that happened yesterday. How was I able to lose three of the most important people of my life in one day? "What could I possible say to ease her pain?"

They have been trying to find Hope and Miracle for hours now and not even the most powerful witches can do a simple locator spell to find them. It's like they disappeared off the face of this earth.

I stand up from my position on the chair and walk over to the balcony looking around to see if people were busy. Have you ever felt suffocated in a big space? Because that's how I'm feeling right now, the memories are haunting me and playing pranks with my head.

Grabbing onto the balcony and after making sure no one would see me, I quickly jump over it, landing on my own two feet like a cat would. I need some space away from the compound and away from everyone else, plus I need some food... fresh food.

I walk through the French quarter for a few minutes, soon spotting a couple walking towards a alley that is nearby. Smirking to myself I vamp speed towards the two of them.

I groan in disgust when I see the two making out and basically eating each others face off. This catches their attention as they turn to look at me with a confused look and I don't waste no time.

Vamping towards the two of them, I grab their collars and look into their eyes, compelling them to not utter a single word or remember anything after I'm done.

Sinking my fangs in one of their necks I let the blood in and the hunger disappears just like that. When I feel his heart best slow down, I let go of him and sink my teeth on his boyfriend carefully to not kill him either.

After a couple of minutes, I'm done with both of them so I quickly clean the blood off me and give them some of my blood to heal their wounds and for them to go home and stay there for the next two days.

We saw what happened last time I turned someone so I don't want any risks in turning anyone else.

After walking for a few minutes, I find a cute little coffee shop and I walk in. Maybe I can get some peace in here, after all it looks comfortable and somewhere where no one else would think I was.

Emotions leave my body as soon as I stare into space, some giving me strange look. Maybe I have blood on my face still or I look like one of those people you rather not approach on the street. Who knows and who cares at this point?

"Emma, don't tell you did what I think you did?" He spits lowly at me as soon as he sits in front of me, placing a hand on my chin to force me to look up at him and I stare emotionless back. "You got something on your face." He licks his fingers and quickly wipes of the suspected blood from my face. "You ate someone. Just what we needed, Emma." He rolls his eyes, sitting back on his chair, just staring at me.
