Ric called me once he was told I was alive and he sounded pretty happy. Then he asked me to help my sister find Jo, who turns out to be Kai's twin sister that he told me about.

There's a lot I need to catch up with. I thought Silas, Katherine's daughter and Katherine aging, the rules of the cure and the travellers was all I didn't know since I was in New Orleans, but Damon and Bonnie told me a lot more stories.

Like Enzo, crazy vampire doctor, Caroline and Tyler drama, Bonnie and Jeremy drama, Elena and Damon drama, Caroline and Stefan getting closer, Stefan losing his memory and the list goes on.

Elena and I walked around the hospital for a while, asking if anyone saw Jo but no one knew where she was. I called Liz who was also surprisingly happy to hear my voice, and she put an alert out for Jo.

I don't know why I didn't expect people to be happy I was alive. I guess I thought they hated me.

"So we asked around the hospital. No one's seen Jo since last night at the ER. A bunch of stab victims came in, and one of them's missing a spleen." Elena slowly paces side to side in the living room of Ric's house, her arms crossed.

"It was Kai." Ric sighs, sitting on the arm chair with a stressful look. "Jo knew he'd come after her, and he did."

"Not to give you boyfriend lessons or anything, but if you knew Jo's whackjob brother was out on the loose and after her, don't you think that keeping an eye on her would have been a smart move?" Damon points out, having a good point and I nod in agreement.

I forgot to tell you... Ric is no longer a vampire.

He's human.

Yeah... I missed a lot.

"So what's the plan?" I pop the million dollar question.

"Plan's easy. Find Kai, fftt, kill Kai." Damon motions a knife slitting his throat. Suddenly, his phone starts ringing and he stands up from the couch, immediately answering his phone.

After a few minutes of silence, I speak up again, running a hand through my hair. "Kai wants to merge with Jo. He probably kidnapped her. Where would he take her?"

"Well, Bevis and Butthead are on the lookout. Anyone else brimming with confidence?" Damon walks back to us, showing us his phone in his hands.

"I mean, this just doesn't make sense." Ric mutters.

"What could possibly not make sense about magical twins absorbing into one another?" I ask in a sarcastic tone, making Damon snort at my comment.

Ric sends a glare my way, making me roll my eyes. "Listen. Jo needs her magic for the merge to work, and she got rid of that back in 1994." He points out, causing me to think back at how Kai stabbed Bonnie with the knife.

"Not exactly!"

"Jo doesn't have magic because it's stuffed in a knife that was stolen and hidden by yours truly. Kai won't find it." Damon pipes in, sitting down on the couch beside me.

"Yeah, unless Kai does a locator spell." I state with a 'duh' tone. "Even though Kai was born without the ability to do magic. He can absorve it from others and magical objects." I glance in between the three of them, not knowing if they know Kai was a different type of witch.

"If the only way to restore Jo's magic is to reunite her with that knife, Kai's gonna come for it." Ric adds on from what I said.

"Why aren't you more concerned?" Elena raises her eyebrows at her boyfriend.

Also... Elena got all of her memories with Damon compelled away because she couldn't bare the thought of losing him. Now she doesn't remember any good parts of Damon, especially the parts she loved.
