He looks at me with an hesitate expression on his eyes but goes against his own thoughts as he charges at me. I side step him and vamp speed behind him, kicking him on his back, which makes him fly to the other side of the compound.

He groans slightly and I mumble a little sorry as he prompts himself back up and turns to look at me with little smile as if to reassure me that he's okay. He gives me a little nod and I vamp speed towards him, trying to land a punch but he swerves everytime.

Suddenly he grabs my hand as I was about to punch him and restrains me, so, I quickly bring my other hand up to throw a punch but he also easily catches it and now he restrains both of my hands in front of me.

"Do it." I whisper. He debates with himself but rapidly, yet gently, pushes me onto the hard ground of the compound. "Do it." I tell him and he looks away as he shoves his hand through my chest. I need it to work! We've tried everything and this might be it.

He grabs my heart and I am quick to gasp for air but don't put up a fight to stop him, simply concentrating enough to see if it works. "It's not working," he mumbles, as he lets go of my heart and lays beside me on the floor.

"Maybe if you just-" I start but he cuts me off as he jolts back to his feet.

"No! We've tried everything. We tried Freya. We tried fighting. We tried me almost..." he cuts himself off, not even daring to say the words and turns his back to me.

I stand back up and walk towards him, placing my hand around his shoulders as I whisper into his ears. "I know we've tried... a lot. But it wasn't enough. I know I have this 'shield' gift, I just need to know how to use it." He tenses up at my words as he turns around, my arms snaking around his neck as he places his hands around my waist.

"Your gift is indeed useful and good protection against foes. But, love, I don't think there's anything else we can do. Perhaps, it was a one time thing." I shake my head at his words, refusing to believe that the gift was simply a one time thing.

I lay my head on his chest, sighing deeply. "It wouldn't make sense."

He kisses the top of my head, making me look back up at him and kiss him on the lips. "Maybe it'll come to you again. Just give it time." I slightly roll my eyes at his statement. I lowkey need the gift now... not when I'm dead or worse.... kidnapped.... again.

Footsteps can be heard approaching the two of us and I pull away from Nik to look at who is it. I turn my head to see Freya and Elijah, giving the two of us a weird look. You see me and Nik been trying to 'activate' my 'shield' gift for a good five hours and the compound is looking a bit... chaotic.

"I see we're in for another normal Mikaelson breakfast." Freya states sarcastically as I walk over to her and give her a small hug. "Hi."

"I feel like I haven't seen you in forever." I mumble into her shoulder before pulling away from her. I don't really like hugs, but sometimes they're needed.

"I see someone has been missing me." She says and I laugh slightly at her.

"We should go out again sometime. It's definitely a better party with you... and tequila involved." I state and now it's her turn to laugh at me.

"Should I dare ask what happend? Are you two not in good terms?" Elijah asks obviously confused at what is going on.

"I see Freya didn't fill you in, in Em's latest obsession." Nik says and I turn my head to glare at him, quickly rolling my eyes.

"We're fine. I'm-I'm just trying to control this gift and since Freya couldn't find an answer, I tried it my way." I explain to Elijah and he crosses his arms over his chest.
