I grin widely, waving at the screen in front of me as Hayley moves the phone around to show me Freya, Vincent and Josh. "Hey, guys. Damn Josh, you're glowing. What's your secret?"

"Stress free. I recommend it!" He smiles at the camera and I return it with a small sigh of my own, half of Hayley's face appearing on the screen now.

"Impossible when you have a 14 year old teenager doing the opposite of what you ask her!" I point out, taking a sip of my drink and looking at the clock on the wall.

"What did she do this time?" Hayley questions me, her whole face appearing on the screen with a worried look.

"The problem is what she hasn't done. Come straight home after school. It's the third time this week, I'm worried. I bet she's doing this as a rebellious way to protest against.. everything." I mumble, running a hand through my hair in frustration.

"Hope has been doing the same thing. Always asking about her sister. You know she was trying to get money to go see Miracle. She made twelve dollars from a cake sale." She tells me and we chuckle together. "I don't think she realises that twelve dollars won't get her to Portugal."

"I still hope everyday that the hollow disappears miraculously and they can see each other. I know they miss one another. It's been 9 years since they last saw each other." I tell her and she nods in agreement, Freya slightly appearing in the phone.

"It had to be this way."

"Were we actually right to not allowed them to talk at all?" I question, leaning back against the chair.

"It was easier for all of us. What would happen if suddenly after a phone call they decided to meet? Hope's 16 and Miracle's 14, they've been rebellious for years now, they wouldn't even tell us until it was too late." Freya points out and I slowly nod my head at her words.

"We sacrificed a lot too." Hayley agrees.

"Yeah, you're right." I state as I hear the door knob twist and the door slowly creaking open. "I'll talk to you later, Hails." I mutter before I hang up the phone, placing it on the kitchen table.

I walk toward the living room where I see Miracle trying to tip toe her way to her room, but she's not very discreetly as the floor creaks every now and then.

"Come here, right now, Miracle Aryn Gilbert-Mikaelson." I demand, rolling my eyes when she freezes in place. "Do you think I won't be able to see you if you're frozen in place?"

"Is it working?" She mutters, slowly turning to look at my annoyed expression. "Oi, mãe. Calma, eu estou aqui! (Hey, mom. Calm down... I'm here!)" She states, propping down on the couch like nothing even happened.

"Don't tell me to calm down, Miracle! Where the hell were you? You did not text me, I was worried something happened. I nearly got Maria to do a locator spell on you." I argue with my arms crossed over my chest and a death glare on my face.

"I went out with some people in my class. Remember? You told me to make some friends." She mumbles with attitude, making me shoot her a knowing look and she puts her hands up in defence. "I'm just saying."

"I meant for you to make friends in school. When the sun is out and you're learning." I point out, looking at the clock that reads 18:23. "Your school finished at 3pm. I told you to get home straight after it! At least you should've sent me a text asking for permission, Miracle."
