TWO THINGS DEFINES YOU, YOUR PATIENCE WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING, AND YOUR ATTITUDE WHEN YOU HAVE EVERYTHING.
"Assalamu alaikum umma," I said on the phone to my mother
"Wa alaikumus salam khadijah, how are you doing?"
"Alhamdullilah umma, I'm good, you?"
"Same dear, how's school?" Umma asked.
"Alhamdullilah, how's ummi and abbi?"
"They are all good, I just came back from her section," umma answered
"Oh okay, Umma, next year by now you will be here with us for our graduation insha Allah." Khady said on the phone.
"Really,? I can't wait for that day. My Allah spare us time to witness it". Umma prayed.
"Ameen umma". So how are the kids?. Where is my baby"?. I asked referring to Zarah.
"She is sleeping in the room, they are still on holiday." Umma answered.
"My regards to them all, I've to go now, bye love you "

"Assalamu alaikum," Asma'u said over the phone.
"Girl, guess what!!!!". Asma'u said almost shouting
"What? Babe just say it ,you know I'm terrible at that," I said as I was just eager to hear the gist.
"Ok, don't eat me up" she said.
"That's exactly what am trying to do, now spill out." I said eagerly.
"Yahya has sent his elders yesterday evening girl."
"Oh My Allah, are you serious?. I can't buy this joke please," I said excitedly.
"I'm not joking khadee, wallahi yahya has sent his uncles yesterday." She assured me.
"Masha Allah, I'm so happy for you, What's the date?" I asked.
"Not yet fixed, They just came for pleasantries or whatever they call it."
"Oh I grab, but I know it will in less than a year, Right?"
"I guess too." She answered.
"Okay, umma will be so happy if she get this news." I said with smile, I could remember when umma was praying for us to get good husbands back in kano.
"No, don't tell her now, I'm shy." she said.
"You know that is impossible, so better keep your words to yourself." I said.
"Well, your time is coming too, I won't spare you.' Asma'u said.
"Okay we shall see". I answered.
We talked about school and other stuff and we hung up.
"Food is here," A'isha said as she opened the door to our room.
"I'm starving girl, let start eating please." Maryam said while pressing her phone.
"Guys, guess what?." I said.
"Just say it, we have no energy to guess". Maryam said. Who else?
"Asma'u is getting married soon, just get ready." I spilled it out.
"Are you serious?" Maryam asked.
"Ofcourse I am. I'm so happy for her." I said.
