Pyra POV
We had been out here for a while, and when Kai had left, the cold set in, but I wasn’t comfortable asking someone else for help, because I do not like being touched, but Kai is… well he’s Kai, and that’s probably why he is not letting me off with no snide comments about being snugly nestled against him.
Kai: Are you trying to burrow into my skin Pyra? Cause that’s what it looks like.
I could feel my face heating up.
Pyra: Does he… intentionally flirt with me? Or does he make fun of me? Or does he, just say things that sound that way because that’s how he is? Why does he have me so confused?
We continued walking along, Rex and Nia seemed to be having a side conversation, as well as Vandham and Azurda.
Kai: Oi! Vandham! You gonna tell us what in Alrest we’re doin here? Or do I need to beat it out of ya?
Vandham laughed
Vandham: Could go either way, which one you prefer?
Kai grinned.
I tugged on his cloak and looked up at him
Pyra: *softly* Are you going to leave me in the cold again?
Kai: Nope.
He quickly removed his cloak, then wrapped it around me.
Kai: I’ll be through with the old man in a second.
Vandham: Fat chance
Kai drew his sword
Kai: Then bring it on!
Vandham: Wouldn’t have it any other way. Roc!
His Blade appeared at his side from the back of the group
Kai: Ooooo The big man needs his Blade to take me on.
Vandham seemed slightly agitated after that one
Vandham: On second thought, I’ll deal with him myself.
Kai swung his sword, almost lazily
As Vandham readied himself, Kai charged
Kai: [Quick Draw]
The move sent him forward faster, but Vandham blocked the strike. In recovery, Kai backflipped away.
Kai: [Blade Beam]
That was a move I recognized from his fight with me, the crescent shaped beam traveled along the ground towards Vandham, who simply dodged.
Vandham: Too slow!
All of a sudden, Kai was behind Vandham
Pyra: Jin’s speed
Kai: [Cross Slash]
The rapid strikes caught Vandham from behind, then it glowed and exploded, knocking Vandham away.
Kai: Fast enough for you?
Vandham: Got me good, but I ain’t done yet!
Vandham charged Kai this time, going for a multitude of strikes that Kai blocked almost effortlessly.
Kai: [Scintilla]
The blue wall of hexagons appeared, but Vandham shattered it with a heavy blow.
Vandham: Ahaha! Can’t stop this!
Kai: I know. [Magic Burst]!
An explosion of blue energy surrounded Kai, ensnaring Vandham inside, preventing his blows.
