Pyra POV

Rex went and retreived Roc’s Core, and Kai got up and moved to a corner.

Pyra: I should have known something was wrong when he asked Rex if he could fight the kids, it was so unlike him, he doesn’t pick violence first.

I looked at him, and what I saw was him retreating into a shell that he had created, recently he had become a little more reserved than normal, and has kept his distance from me. Whenever we made camp since leaving Uraya he hasn’t slept near me like he did previously. His emotions are tormenting him in the form of himself, but without morals or inhibitions. He needs help, and I might be the only one who could help him.

Pyra: If I can figure out how…

Mythra: Why do you care so much about him?

Pyra: Just because I can’t confess it to him doesn’t mean I can’t admit to myself that I love him.

Mythra: I see chasing after him as a waste of time really.

Pyra: Is it chasing after him if I’m constantly with him anyway?

She was silent, clearly she didn’t have a response. Just by being around him caused me to fall in love with him, and the closeness we had before seemed to have disappeared.

Kai: *muttering* C’mon, get yourself together Kai, you can’t let your own emotions get the better of you.

I heard his muttering, and so I moved toward him, reaching out.

Pyra: *softly* Kai…

He looked at me. His blue eyes were dull again, he was losing hope, every time this happened he lost hope.

Kai: *quietly* Stay away from me Pyra, I don’t want to hurt you, I can’t trust myself anymore.

Pyra: *softly* I’m not leaving you Kai. I won’t.

Kai: *quietly* Why? Why do insist on trying to fix me? You could get hurt!

Pyra: *softly* You’re letting him get to you Kai, he’s trying to isolate you, keep you away from the people who can help… keep you away from me… I can help you Kai, I want to help you, but you have to stay with us, don’t let your dark side win.

He looked down, and I stepped closer, our bodies almost touching.

Pyra: *softly* I’m here Kai… I… I always will be.

Mythra: Really? You realize the true nature of our journey, don’t you?

Pyra: I don’t desire oblivion anymore, not when I have someone to live for.

Mythra: And if I do?

Pyra: Then you will have added another life to your hands.

Mythra: Who's?

Pyra: Mine

Mythra: You’re set on him, aren’t you.

It wasn’t a question, it was a statement. Because she already knew the answer.

Kai: *quietly*  Don’t… don’t give me hope…

Pyra: *softly* I’m sorry I couldn’t give it to you sooner…

I embraced him, gently pressing myself against his body, trying to offer physical comfort in any way I could. After a moment, his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer.

Kai: *softly* Thank you Pyra…

I gently nuzzled into him. At this point, I was just trying to be close to him again as much as I was trying to comfort him.
