I completely froze. I was so caught up in Blaise's little theory that I forgot where I was. Or more importantly who was in the next box. I looked to my right. Sure enough I was met with a mop of black hair and the purest green eyes anyone has ever seen.
"Addie. It's really you!" Harry gasped still staring at me.
I didn't know what to do. I wasn't prepared do deal with this. Not Blaise's love triangle analogy or meeting my old friends.
So I did the only thing I could think of . Yes ladies and gentlemen, people of all walks of life... I bolted. I ran faster than I think I ever have before. I ran past the bar where I could hear Theo and Draco arguing. I didn't stop when Draco called my name.
I ran down the carpeted runway and down the steps, into the outer part of the stadium. Damn myself for not exercising. I had to stop. I had a stitch and was completely put of breath.
"Addie?"
Aw for the love of all that is magical! Why me?
I looked up, probably looking something similar to a deer caught in headlights.
"It is you. I knew I smelt your perfume." He smiled. A smile that I used to long to see on his face. A smile I worked hard to try and put on his face. Everyday. For years.
"Hello Harry." I said not really knowing where to begin.
I knew this day would come but I thought it would be much later on. Like years down the line.
"It's unbelievably brilliant to see you Addie. I missed you so much." He stepped closer. Silly me was up against the wall so I didn't really have any where to go. "Where did you disappear to?" Harry asked. "I looked for you after the war. I searched everywhere."
"I didn't go to far. I work in Diagon Alley. I live in Godrics Hollow." I said.
Harry froze. "You do?"
I nodded.
"In Dumbledore's house?" He asked stepping closer. Again I nodded. "Addalie, I have missed you so much. I thought about you everyday from the battle."
"Why?" I asked confused.
He sighed. "Because I was horrible to you. Everything you said that day was right. We treated you like crap. You were a vital part of our group and you never got the recognition you deserved. We were...I was complacent. You were just always there that I never realised what I had until you were gone."
"Harry, I -"
"I am so sorry babe." He sniffed. "I really have missed you. It broke my heart to lose you." He was right in front of me now. Too close. Draco kind of close. Right now I would take the Draco close. "Did you think of me?" Harry asked. He looked into my eyes. He looked...older. Like he had aged 10 years, not 2. He bad bags under his eyes and he had lost weight. Auror training must have taken it toll on him.
Did I miss him? Of course I did. So I nodded. His whole face lit up.
"So you work in Diagon Alley?"
"I own a shop there."
"You do?"
"Yeah A's Apothecary. That's my store."
"I know of the place. I had no idea you owned it."
I shrugged. "Kind of the point. Hiding in plain sight."
"Wow," he took my hand in his. Not unlike he used to when we were younger. "You've done well."
"I had to. I didn't have anyone." I said defiantly.
"I am so sorry for that. I wish I was there for you. Like you were the for me."
