I had managed to do something with my hair while Narcissa headed off to get dressed. I was currently standing in a guest room with all four dresses hanging on the wall next to me. Pansy and Laurie were on their way, and a message had been sent to Daphne to get her know that there was a dress here for her.
Draco had gone to wait for everyone to get here.
I was having a bit of a nervous breakdown. This was not exactly my scene, and I had no idea what I was doing here. I was getting dressed up to have dinner with my very new boyfriend, his family, his best friends, and his bloody ex and her family. And everyone seemed perfectly calm about this. No one was even worried about what would happen.
Apart from me. I had visions of Astoria lunging across the table and taking me by the hair. I could picture the awful things she would say to me and how I would have to practically bite my tongue off to stop myself from saying anything.
I didn't think I could do this. I was about to find Narcissa to tell her as such when there was a knock on the door, and it opened to reveal Blaise. He was wearing a navy suit with black collar and tie. He had let a bit of facial hair grow, just as Draco had, and he looked all the better for it. More manly.
"Don't you look dashing," I smiled as he kissed my cheek.
"And that bathrobe is very fetching. Will Draco be matching for dinner?" He laughed at his own sarcasm.
"Very funny." I rolled my eyes. "Blaise, I don't think I can do this. Sit across from Astoria as she glares daggers at me all night? I can't do it."
"That is why we are here...as backup. She won't say anything to you. She has been well warned." He folded his arms across his chest, which he puffed out.
"What are you on about?"
"Let's just say that we have been doing a little digging on Miss Greengrass, and she knows it. We have uncovered a few things that could make her look even worse than she already does. She knows not to open her mouth and even say one negative thing to you or we will go straight to the paper...and her father."
"Blaise, I don't want to ruin the poor girl -"
"Did you hear what she said about you last night? About Pansy? About Draco? No, she always has a way of putting people down. We always turned a blind eye because she was with Draco and he is our mate, but now? All bets are off. She better behave."
I just rolled my eyes. "I can't change your mind, can I?"
"Nope," he smirked and made a popping sound with his 'p'.
"And I can't back out of this dinner?"
"Not a chance. It's going to be a fun show. You won't want to miss it." He smirked again.
I sighed. "Is Pansy and -"
The door opened to reveal both girls, Theo and Draco. "OK, time to get ready. Theo, take Daphne's dress and use the fireplace there to Floo to her bedroom. Make sure she wears that dress. I can only imagine what her sister picked out for her to wear. Blaise, make sure Draco showers and do NOT let him gel his hair!" Pansy warned.
Theo grabbed the garment bag and hopped into the fireplace. Blaise saluted Pansy and frog marched Draco from the room and across the hall. Pansy then turned to me and Laurie. "Laurie, you do Addie's makeup while I do your hair. Then we will get ready and head down to the reporters.
My knees nearly gave out as I stood there. "I am sorry the who?" I gasped.
"Reporters," Pansy looked as if what she had just said was completely obvious.
