Draco wasn't kidding when he said that his mother and father wanted to meet me. A week after the unsettling events outside my shop, I received a letter to the shop. I knew who it was straight away, as the envelope was sealed with a red waxed Malfoy crest of arms.
Dear Addalie,
I am writing to you without my son's knowledge as he has yet to invite you to our home. My husband and I have met all of Draco's friends and we love meeting those who are important to him, yet he has not brought the one person he talks more than any other.
You.
It is such a shame as he speaks so fondly of you. I feel as though I already know you without having even had the pleasure of your company outside of the shop.
So we would love it if you could join us on Sunday afternoon for high tea. Please do not worry. We no longer live in our Manor, where the horrible events of the evening of your capture took place. That home had too many bad memories for us, so after the war we demolished it and rebuilt it into the home we currently occupy.
We would love the chance to get to know you for ourselves and apologise for everything that happened two years ago. If it pleases you we shall expect you at 3pm. You can use the Floo network.
We hope to see you soon.
Narcissa Malfoy
"She invited you to high tea?" Pansy asked reading over the top of me.
"Yeah seems so. That's very nice of her."
"That is very unexpected of her. She doesn't invite just anyone. In fact none of us have ever been invited. Astoria hasn't even been invited before."
"She hasn't?"
"No. To be honest, I don't think Lucius likes her all that much." Pansy chuckled. "But this is a huge deal! We have to go shopping. You can't wear just anything when you are attending high tea with Narcissa Malfoy."
I groaned internally. Shopping was not my forte. I was clueless when it came to fashion. Thankfully though Pansy called for backup and Laurie and Daphne were more than happy to take me shopping for the perfect outfit and accessories.
So Saturday afternoon, I was firstly taken to a salon, where I was plucked and primped more than I ever had been in my entire life. My eyebrows were sitting to perfection, I did not have a hair on my body other than my head. My hair had been coloured, washed and cut and my skin had a glow to it after a heavenly facial.
Next up was the actual shopping.
"You have to look elegant and sophisticated with a sultry look as well." Pansy exclaimed.
"You can't show too much skin. Either show your chest and arms or show off your legs, not both together. Narcissa's style has changed since the war so it's not customary to wear dress robes anymore, but you can't wear trousers." Laurie went on as she browsed the stands.
"Don't wear green as they will assume you are trying to impress them by wearing their house colours but don't wear red and show off your house colours either." Daphne added.
It all sounded very complicated.
"What about black?" I asked. "Will a black dress offend anyone?"
All three girls thought for a minute before smiling. "Black will work," Pansy smiled.
"Oh like this!" Daphne held up a grey silk skirt which went down to below my knees. Then she held up a black lace cami top and grey cardigan.
"And black heels!" Laurie added.
