It's now Thursday morning and everyone is in the kitchen eating quietly, that is until Louis comes out.
"You're in my chair." Is the first thing he says when he exits his room.
Natalie moves around dramatically, looking behind her seat and under it.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asks.
"Oh I'm trying to see where it says this is your seat. If it's yours I'm sure there's some sort of marking on it." She replies sassily.
The other boys laugh. She knows he always sits here, which is why she picked it this morning.
"You know I sit there every morning."
"Louis I do not pay that much attention to you; I have no idea where you usually sit." She says in a bored tone.
It's an obvious lie, but it successfully pisses him off.
"Liar, get up." He says angrily.
"No."
"You're just doing it to annoy me."
"Am not." She says defiantly.
"Children play nice," Liam says from his behind his book looking like a proper dad.
"Sorry daddy," Louis says sarcastically.
"Like calling people daddy do you?" Natalie asks smirking at him.
"Piss off."
"I love learning new things about you Louis," she says continuing to tease him.
"Get. Up." He grits out.
Natalie just turns away from him, ignoring him.
"Fine," he says, and she figures he is going to go away, but instead he pushes himself in between her and the table.
"What are you doing? Get your ass out of my face."
"You'd be lucky to be able to touch my ass." He says plopping down on her legs.
She lets out a huff, but then smirks. "Well then consider me lucky," she says sliding her hands down his back, moving down to rest her hands at his hips.
The boys watch them with wide eyes, but let them continue, this isn't exactly the first time the two of them did something like this, won't be the last. But either way it does still shock them whenever the two of them get close like this.
"Hm, like putting your hands on me baby?" He says trying to be seductive, but she rolls her eyes.
She leans in close to his ear and drags one of her hands up his back and to his shoulder, "Sure daddy." She can see from the corner of her eye that his eyes widened in shock, and she laughs loudly in his ear making him jump. She takes her hand and slaps his cheek lightly.
"Get up, I have to get ready."
He's still a bit stunned but gets up, letting her slip out and he sits back down blinking at nothing. She makes eye contact with him and winks, happy with herself and snickering as she leaves.
"You okay mate?" Zayn asks, he can see the way Louis' still a bit flustered even though he doesn't want to admit it. Thankfully she had to decency to only let him hear what she said so at least he doesn't have to explain himself to them.
"Yeah, fine." He shakes his head and tells himself he'll get her back later somehow.
Louis spends most of the morning brainstorming, trying to figure out how to get back at her. It's difficult for him to figure out since his manager is forcing him to actually do his job, but around lunch time he thinks of something.
He sees her getting her lunch and walks behind her, sticking his hand on the small of her back and leaning around her to grab an apple, "Excuse me, love."
She turns to look at him with her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Yeah, okay." She says with an attitude.
He turns and walks away, she had a reaction, but not the one he wanted. He's going to play a little game, he's going to call her pet names until he finds one that makes her squirm.
He's trying not to be too obvious about it so he's planning to space them out.
He leaves her alone for the time being until lunch is over, but he's already planning his next attack so to say. He doesn't like that she caught him in somewhat of a vulnerable moment, he was just shocked is all, nothing more than that.
A little later he is able to sneak away from his work to go and "ask Natalie a question."
He goes up behind her while she's working at her desk, "Hey baby can you help me with this post?"
She spins around and looks at him, again with a confused face, "What do you mean Louis?"
"Oh, I um just needed help with a caption, but if you're busy I can go," he says now awkward since he never asks her for help. He doesn't really have anything he needs help with, but thankfully he's good at thinking on his feet.
"No, I don't mind, you just usually don't ask for help."
He shrugs and shows her the picture. It's a black and white photo of him and the rest of the boys working and laughing in the studio.
"Oh well you could say something, like "studio with the boys," I know you like to keep your captions simple."
"Thanks cupcake, but I wouldn't really say that," he says with a goofy smile.
"Louis what is going on?" She questions.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh. My. Gosh. Is this about this morning?" She says humor clear in her voice. "It is, isn't it?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I think I hear them calling me in the other room."
"Really? I don't hear them. Let's keep talking about this a second," she says, and tries to grab his arm to keep him there.
He wants no part in this conversation. He tries to run away from her but accidentally pulls her with him in her spinny chair, making her erupt into giggles. He starts smiling like a fool.
He pulls her again and she keeps laughing as he drags her all around the room. After a minute he spins her around and pushes her back toward her desk.
"Really gotta go," he says laughing as he runs out of the room. He has a smile on his face all the way back to where the boys were waiting for him.
"What's got you smiling?" Zayn asks him quietly.
"Nothing," he says dismissively, trying to dodge the question.
They get interrupted by Louis' phone going off. He sees a text from Natalie, Linda made him save her number when she first got here or else he probably wouldn't have it.
The message says, your caption should be, "making memories."
Louis of course, being himself replies, with the quotation marks?
She sends an eye roll emoji and then replies, yes.
So he does just that.
When Natalie gets home later that day, she goes straight to the kitchen to the leftovers that are waiting for her in the fridge. She happily sticks it in the microwave and plays on her phone until it's done.
Louis sees her standing there, she has her back to him so he figures this is be the best time to give his little game another go. He doesn't think this nickname will work, but you never know.
He walks up behind her and leans over real close to her ear and whispers, "Thanks for the help earlier kitten." He moves his hand up to brush some of her hair behind her ear.
Her cheeks turn pink, and her eyes go wide, and she absolutely prays he can't hear her breathe catch in her throat.
Not that she knows, but he doesn't hear it from the way his own heart is beating excitedly in his chest seeing as he found her soft spot.
He smirks and said, "I win." Strutting away and leaving her actually a little stunned.
