"What the hell?" Harry seethes, he is nothing but protective of Natalie lately.
Niall and Liam are on the ground next to Natalie making sure she is okay. It seems a little dramatic, but she is thankful for them all the same. She looks up at Harry and scrambles to her feet.
"Harry, Harry. I'm fine." She says coming to his side and trying to catch his eyes.
He doesn't turn to her though, and now Louis stands up. Zayn comes to his side to help stop the potential fight. Natalie ends up getting pushed behind Harry's back.
"I said it was an accident," Louis says, trying to look big like Harry. Which in any other instance, they would be laughing at, but not now.
Natalie does the only thing she can do to try to calm Harry down and wraps her arms around him, resting her cheek on his back, hands fisting into his shirt near his heart. "Harry, let it go. I'm okay," she whispers and feels him physically relax a little.
"Afraid everyone was gonna see you holding her huh? Just like the rest of us who you're always saying should keep their hands off? Guess you can't either. We all already saw you." Harry seethes.
Louis just brushes past, purposefully knocking into him. He's clearly very annoyed and Zayn follows him.
"Harry-" Natalie starts but he cuts her off.
"No, I can't just keep letting it go, he needs to be put in his place." Harry says and then he's leaving too.
At first the little rivalry between her and Louis was fun, but now it's starting to get out of hand. It's natural for people living together to fight, when they spend a lot of time together. The boys have known each other for a while now and are comfortable enough with each other that a little fighting doesn't bother them. She doesn't want to be the cause of the fight all the time.
Was it her fault? Sometimes, but even when it's not directly caused by her, she's usually the topic of the fight. It's getting to be too much for her. But what can she do?
She gives Harry a little time to cool off and then goes into his room to talk with him.
All things considered it could go worse, but it doesn't start off too good.
"It's not fair the way he treats you, I don't care how much you like him," Harry mumbles the last part and sighs. "It's just you deserve better Natalie."
"I get what you're saying Haz, but it's not like I'm actually with him or anything."
"Yeah, but you want to be. Answer me honestly, if he wanted to be with you would you say no?"
She's quiet for a little while, but they both know her answer. She can't explain it, she's just attracted to him. Not just because of the way he looks, she literally feels like there is something pulling them together sometimes, for better or for worse. Probably worse.
"It doesn't matter, because he doesn't want me."
"You deserve someone who isn't afraid to be with you, or whatever his reason is for being such an ass."
"I know, thank you." She says quietly.
"Anytime babe."
And that's that. She knows Harry doesn't approve of her little crush, probably never will, but she can't help herself.
She wakes up in the morning to a text from Harry.
H: hey lmk when you're awake
N: hi what's up
