Lucky for Natalie, she is able to leave work early today. She says goodbye to the boys and leaves the building to go home. She and Louis had talked at lunch, he apologized and she isn't sure that it wasn't forced, but she forgave him all the same. It seems like he knows he crossed a line and said he won't do something like that again.
I'd be in his interest not to anyway, he just needs to look at Harry the wrong way at this point and Harry will go after him.
She sighs, she desperately needs to decompress and she's very happy to be going home.
Normally the short walk isn't an issue, but normally there isn't paparazzi there. She's stunned, never really having dealt with this before.
There's probably only 15 people there, but it feels like there's a million with the way they scream questions at her about the boys. They all move in close to her, one man quite a bit closer than the others.
She does her very best to ignore them, but this one guy is relentless. Whereas the others backed off a bit once they realize she probably won't talk to them, he comes closer. She can tell he doesn't like her ignoring him and puts a hand on her shoulder, making her whip around at his harsh grab.
She looks up at him with wide eyes as he hurls more questions at her, this time she is too stunned at his aggressiveness to even speak. He takes this as her ignoring him more and as she tries to back away in fear, he shoves her again. He puts both his hands on her shoulders and shoves her, causing her to fall painfully hard on the ground.
She's a small girl, maybe 5'2 and she's not particularly fit. With the mix of shock and fear, it wasn't hard to push her down. Although he really pushed her down with enough force it could probably knock anyone down.
She scrambles up and runs as fast as she can to the house, tears blurring her vision and her stomach twisting.
She goes into her bedroom to try to calm down. She landed on her side, she knows she should lift up her shirt to look at the damage, but she can't. She just stands there trying to slow her breathing and willing her tears to stay quiet and not to get stuck in her throat. No one is home so she doesn't really have to be quiet, it just seems more real if she cries about it.
After a few minutes she decides to lift her shirt up to see blood dripping, some dried and caked on and a bruise covering half her torso. Of course this happens to be the moment Louis walks by, she's not sure how much time has passed between her leaving their office and him getting home. She's not sure how long she stood there.
She didn't even hear him come home, but she sees him leave his room with a sweatshirt in his hands. He must have come back because he was cold.
"What the hell?" He yells as she rushes to close her door so he can't come in. Unfortunately for her he is too fast.
"What the hell Natalie, who did this to you?" He asks, concern clear in his voice and on his face.
She doesn't like it.
"It's nothing Louis. I tripped," she says really trying to convince him, "You know I'm clumsy. I'm fine, okay? Just leave me alone."
"Absolutely not. Who did this to you?" He says and moves to try to lift up her shirt again. She moves back flinching as her muscles ripple near the cut. "Fine if you don't want to tell me I'm getting Harry. You have to tell someone."
"No Louis, please. I don't want anyone to know. Please," she pleads and grabs his hand.
"Fine. I won't tell anyone," he says his voice softer than she's ever heard in her life, "But you have to tell me who did this. This isn't okay and you didn't just fall."
