Is it cruel of Louis to use his little siblings in the game he's playing?
He doesn't think so. He isn't using them for anything bad, and they like talking to the boys so if anything he is doing a good thing.
Yeah, that's what he tells himself.
When lunch rolls around he pulls out his phone and immediately facetimes his siblings. His 8-year-old sister Phoebe answers.
"Hi LouLou! I miss you."
"Hi bug, I miss you too." He replies with a smile.
"What are you doing?" She asks.
"I'm just about to eat lunch."
"Oh, me and Daisy just ate, we had dino nuggies."
"Hi Louis!" Daisy interrupts.
"Hey kiddo, how are you?"
"Louis, she interrupted me." Phoebe whines.
"Oh, I'm sorry bug. Daisy give your sister a minute."
"Ugh," Daisy groans, and Louis chuckles softly.
"I was going to say we had dino nuggies AND french fries." Phoebe finishes her previous statement.
"Well that sounds delicious."
"Can we see your friends?" Phoebe asks.
"Yeah, I've been wanting to talk to Niall!" Daisy adds.
"Oh you have, have you?" Louis replies.
He smiles at the two of them showing him toys and overall being loud and happy.
He walks over to where everyone is sitting and passes the phone to Niall.
"I have some people who would like to talk to you."
Niall's face lights up as he listens to the kids and watches them as they try to jump over each other trying to get his attention. Soon he passes the phone to Liam and after that Zayn and Harry.
Louis takes the phone from Harry once he's done and goes over to sit down next to Natalie and slings his arm over her shoulders.
"This here is someone you haven't met, this is Natalie." Louis says nicely.
"Hi Natalie!" The two kids both say happily.
"Wow, you look like a princess." Phoebe says with amazement in her eyes.
Natalie sends Louis a little smirk and he has to suppress a groan.
"Yeah! Like Rapunzel!" Daisy adds.
"No, I think you two look like the princesses."
They giggle and give her big smiles.
"What are your names?"
"I'm Phoebe." "I'm Daisy."
"Wow, those are very pretty."
She talks with them for a little while longer, smiling the whole time because the two of them are so cute. Louis has to admit, she seems good with kids. And it is nice to see her have a smile on her face, even if he'd never admit it out loud.
She hands the phone back to Louis after a little while and he says goodbye to the girls, promising to call them later in the week.
Then he triumphantly walks back over and sits down next to Natalie, a wide smile on his face.
"You talked to me." He says.
"Actually, no she didn't. She talked to them next to you, but she didn't talk to you." Niall says.
"Dammit!" Louis yells and Natalie throws her head back cackling.
"It's not that funny." Louis mumbles which only makes her laugh harder. Louis gets up and stalks away.
Natalie continues to ignore him all throughout the rest of the day, which isn't that hard. Luckily she has a lot of work to do on her computer, so she's able to stay away from him. She will stop ignoring him soon, it's just fun messing with him for the time being.
Around 5 o'clock Louis pops his head into her office, "Hey time to go," he says in a nice voice for once.
It almost makes her talk to him, but then she remembers the little game she's playing and smiles and nods at him.
"Come on, you're really not going to talk to me all day?" He says emphasizing the last two words. She just shrugs and joins him by the door and they walk back to the house together.
"Can you at least tell me who the kids were in the picture?"
She looks at him with another smile and starts moving her hands in a way that makes him furrow his brows in confusion.
"Oh. My. Gosh." He says exaggeratedly and rolls his eyes. "You know sign language don't you," she smirks at him and keeps moving her hands, "Of course you do."
He starts groaning and getting all dramatic, making her bust out into a fit of giggles to which he eventually joins in on. He has a smile on his face as he holds the front door to their house open for her.
When they get inside, the rest of the boys are in the living room so Louis joins them. Natalie goes to put her stuff away in her room and she overhears Louis talking to the boys.
"Does laughing count as talking? Because if so, she talked to me." Louis says proudly thinking they will agree with him.
"No mate," she can't see them yet, but she knows Liam is shaking his head as he says that.
"Really? Because I think it does." Louis says back childishly.
She laughs and comes into the living room, which stops their conversation. When Louis sees her, he crosses his arms around his chest and pouts like a child. She rolls her eyes at him and he sticks his tongue out at her. She smiles and sits next to Harry who lifts up his blanket so she can get comfortable.
They all stay in the living room until it gets late, they order a pizza and eat off paper plates, all of them being too lazy to cook or clean that night.
Later that night, Natalie goes out of her room to make some tea. Just as the water boils Louis comes out with his empty cup and puts it in the sink.
He looks at her and smiles so she returns it. "Making tea?" He asks.
She nods and he groans. "Still the silent treatment?"
She shrugs and lets out a little giggle.
Louis washes his cup in silence while Natalie makes her tea. She turns to go back into her room, but before she leaves, she says, "They're my cousins."
"What?" His head shoots up hearing her voice.
"The picture from this morning, it was of my cousins."
He smiles at her and nods, humming in response.
"Good night, Louis."
"Night," he says and goes into his room with a big smile on his face that doesn't fade until he falls asleep.
