It's about 1 am and Louis is incredibly thirsty, he groans to himself and gets out of bed. He tries his best to be quiet as he creeps into the kitchen and fills his glass. Feeling much better, he makes his way back toward his room.
Before he can get there, he sees someone on the couch. He immediately knows it's Natalie because of her long blonde hair.
The tv is off, so it doesn't seem like she fell asleep watching it. He has no idea why she's sleeping here instead of her comfortable bed.
He considers just picking her up and bringing her to her room, but he decides to ask her what's going on instead. He crouches down next to where she is on the couch.
"Natalie love? What are you doing out here?" He asks quietly, sticking his hand on her arm to gently wake her.
She yawns and rubs her eyes sleepily, "Oh, Harry was sleeping in my bed because his back hurts and his mattress sucks. I wasn't sure if you'd want me to sleep in the same bed as him, so I came out here."
Had she been more awake she might not have admitted that, but it's true. They haven't been together long, so they haven't talked about it, but she wants to be respectful.
No, he can't boss her around and he doesn't get to make decisions for her, but if he was sleeping next to another girl, she can't say she wouldn't have a problem with it.
"Why didn't you come to my room then?" He asks as his eyebrows furrow. He brings his hand up to her cheek and strokes it gently. Honestly, he's touched that she would be so considerate of his feelings because he wouldn't have liked to know that she and Harry cuddled all night.
"Didn't know if you'd want me to." She shrugs shyly.
"Of course you can, any time."
"Mkay," she says happily.
"Come on love, up you get," he says and reaches his hands out to pull her up.
She gratefully takes his hands and follows him to his room. He opens the door for her, and she stands by his bed a bit awkwardly.
"Which side do you like to sleep on?" She asks and he really thinks she is the sweetest person he has ever met in his life.
"Whichever side you're on," he says with a cheeky smile.
"Oh my gosh," she says and rolls her eyes dramatically. He starts giggling and she falls back on his bed, "What am I going to do with you?"
He falls onto the bed next to her and places a kiss on her cheek.
"Keep me forever?" He says and turns on his side to look at her.
"I'll think about it. Although your bed is comfortable, so I'll definitely keep you for now." She says smiling and turning to him.
The two of them wake up tangled up in each other. Legs twisted together and her hand on his chest. His arms are wrapped tightly around her waist pressing her to him. Louis has been up for a little while, but he is very content to just lay there with her.
"What if we switch Harry's mattress with yours and then everyone's room can stay the same and you can just sleep in here with me every night." Louis says once he sees her eyes open.
Last night they had been trying to find a solution to their problem, they didn't think of a good one before they fell back to sleep.
Harry's mattress is really uncomfortable for some reason and they both know she'll have a hard time turning him down if he asks to stay in there again. They can't order a new one because apparently the bed frame he has needs a custom sized mattress and they are on back order. They could get a new bed frame, but Harry doesn't want to since they'll be leaving soon and he feels like it will be a waste.
They had talked about just letting Harry sleep in her room at night and her in Louis', but then she would be worried about waking him up if she needed to get something from her room. They thought about switching their rooms so Harry could have the comfortable bed, but then it would mean moving all over again and that does not sound fun.
Yes, she could just ask Harry not to sleep in her room, but she feels bad asking that. As it is she isn't super happy to tell him they can't sleep in the same bed together, although it does make sense.
She thinks he'll understand, but she knows he's been a little sad at all the time Louis and her are spending together. Harry won't say anything and he won't try to get in their way, but she can tell he misses the way they used to be even though she tries to keep it similar to the way it was before.
She still makes time for him, but it's just all different. They aren't as cuddly and they don't talk at night until they fall asleep. Louis makes her tea in the morning instead of Harry.
"Hi, yes good morning to you too," she says moving to look at him with a smile on her face.
"Morning," he says and gives her a peck on her lips.
She hums. "Is that okay? You don't think you'll want some space from me?"
"From you? Never." He says sincerely. "Do you need space?" He asks quietly and moves to sit up in the bed.
"No. I'd never let you go. You're stuck with me now," she says sitting up too and putting her hand under his chin so he will look at her.
"Okay well it's going to make going to the bathroom difficult, but we'll make it work."
She shoves his shoulder with her hand, and he pretends like it actually makes him fall over back onto the bed. He leans up on his elbows and looks at her with a smirk.
"But it will make showering much more fun."
She rolls her eyes and tries to get away from him, but he gently knocks her back on the bed, making sure to hold the back of her neck so it doesn't hurt her. He leans over her body and presses kisses all over her face, not missing an inch and making her giggle as he starts to tickle her.
When he's not paying attention she flips him over so she's sitting on his stomach with her legs on either side of him. She grabs his arms and holds them above his head. It was innocent enough, she was just trying to get him to stop ticking her, but they both freeze, realizing their position.
"Kinky," he says causing her to blush and lean her forehead on his to try to hide it. He takes this as an opportunity to capture her lips and if they make out for a while like that, no one needs to know.
When they break apart, he rolls them both on their sides and looks into her eyes as her body melts into his. "Yeah, I could get used to waking up like this."
