"Hey can I work in here?" Louis asks Natalie.
"Uh, yeah. Sure." She says a bit skeptically. She wonders if it's some kind of trick.
He makes his way into her office with a pen and a notebook and plops down on her little couch.
"Thanks."
"No problem," she mutters already engrossed in her work again. She had been sent a 60 page document with information for merch and she has to search for specific dimensions in it. It will probably take her all day unless by some good grace it's in the first 10 pages.
Right now she's trying to listen to calming music to help her keep stay focused on the incredibly boring file.
"Can you turn the music off?" Louis asks and she startles, turning to him. She had almost forgot he was there.
"Yeah. No problem."
She turns it off and wonders why he has to come in here and bother her. Disrupt her workflow when he could sit literally anywhere else, but if he's being civil for the moment, so could she.
She gets out her headphones and sticks them in. Maybe this will be better anyway. Sometimes she feels like headphones are blinders, if she doesn't hear other noises around her, she's more likely to stay focused on the task at hand.
She finds her spot again in the document and gets about half way through the page when she gets hit by a piece of crumpled up paper.
"What the hell?"
"Sorry, needed to get your attention."
"K. What's up?" She says through gritted teeth.
"I can hear the music in your headphones, can you turn it off?"
"You- what?"
"I need complete silence to work."
"Sure Louis, anything for you," she grumbles the last bit sarcastically.
"Great," he says and of course, he doesn't even thank her.
She takes her headphones out and once again turns to the document. Not even a full page later, an email notification pops-up so she switches tabs and responds to the appropriate people. She's on her last email when he interrupts her again.
"I really need it to be quiet in here, I can hear you typing on your laptop." He says not looking up from his notebook.
"Well, maybe somewhere else besides here would be quieter," she says aggressively blinking at him even though he isn't looking at her.
"No, the boys are much too loud out there. I'm good here, thanks." He says sighing with a bored tone.
"Okay, well I'm just going to finish this last email then." She says a bit sassily, but he's barely paying her any mind.
The nerve of this guy.
Okay, now back to the document. This time she gets through a whole three pages before an interruption.
"Natalie?" Louis is now right behind her. He puts his hands on each arm rest and leans down hooking his chin over the back of her chair so he can look at what she's doing.
She huffs and tries to breathe out her frustration. She runs her hands over her face and then pushes her hair back.
"Yes Louis?"
"Watcha doin?" He asks in a sing-songy voice.
"I'm really busy." She says dismissing him and trying to get back to her work.
