It's been three days and the same routine. I wake up, get dressed then wait for Killian to come get me. All I've been able to do is tell Ryker about the surroundings which hasn't been helpful considering every side looked the same to me.
"Hey sleepy head", Killian said walking into my room with a bouquet. "Hi, Killian. You look happy today", I said with a neutral smile. "Well, for one I get to see you and second I thought we should have breakfast at a cafe down the street", he said making my smile bigger. I knew that if he knew the reason for my smile he would never let me out. "I'd love that", I said standing up. He pulled me to his chest and then kissed my forehead. The moment I felt his hand on my butt I pulled away clearing my throat. "We should go", I said looking at my feet. "Anhaa!", he replied swallowing hard.
"I'll have the usual", he told the waitress who was busy ogling him. "And you miss?", she asked, and before I could reply Killian chipped in giving her my order.
"You look very good Erinna, better than I imagined. I'm so happy I finally, have you. I feel like I'm on top of the world right now", he said as we ate slowly. I looked at the reception and saw the name of the cafe, memorising it. "Killian... you know that I already have a boyfriend right?", I said slowly and watched his brows meet. "Erinna, you know that's just the plot to get humans to commit to them right? They use magic and spells to make you think you're meant to be theirs but the truth is you're not", he said angrily then released a breath.
"Erinna, I know this is all confusing to you because of that hideous mark but I promise you, I'm telling you the truth. That was what your mother discovered when she was doing the experiments on them", he said and suddenly all the memories of that day came rushing to me. "That's not true Killian and you know it. I was there. I was there when it all happened you weren't. Where were you Killian? If you truly loved me, why didn't you come for me?", I screamed which startled him.
"I watched my parents die a slow and painful death while you were relaxing in a fortress with countless guards protecting you. I had no one!", I said with tears in my eyes. "Erinna come on, it wasn't that bad, besides you knew that the time would come and they would fight back. Patrick taught me all that I knew on how to defend myself when that time came, he must have done the same with you right? He was one of the fearless people I knew, he wouldn't have let his daughters be unprepared right?", he asked but when our eyes met, his face turned to a sad one.
"You didn't know?", he asked and I shook my head. "I'm so sorry Erinna", he said with sadness. I believed him.
"My mate rescued me from a crazy wolf and he took care of me. He had many chances to take advantage of me or even kill me but he didn't, so I'm sorry if I can't share this achievement with you but while you were being groomed to own all this, I had to endure being raped to a point of blacking out and going through surgery and the only one who helped me was my mate!", I finished.
He looked shocked like he was trying to process what I just told him. He stood up from his side of the table and came to mine. He pulled me in a hug and I found myself sobbing hard.
"I'm so sorry Erinna. I didn't know. They told me you were ok. They told me you were safe", he kept saying while running his hand up and down my back. "Can we leave... please", I said. He pulled back and nod his head leaving money on the table as we walked to the exit door.
"Erinna, I need you to know that I would have never left you behind if I knew you weren't safe. I just thought that you knew like the rest of us", he said as someone opened his office door.
He wanted us to continue with the conversation in his home office. And that's where we have been since we got back from the cafe. He hasn't stopped apologising and I just didn't care, the bottom line was, he knew they were killing innocent supernaturals and he was ok with it.
"Hi Erinna, you look... waoh", Vin said walking in and clearly checking me out. He was Killian's best friend practically inseparable. "Hi Vin", I said wiping a loose tear away as I stood up ready to leave. "Where're you going? I just got here", he whined. "Let her be Vin. She's had a long day and I think she deserves a break", Killian said with a calm face. I heard Vin comment on my ass and Killian telling him to behave.
'Ryker?', 'Fucking finally!', he said making me smile. I missed him. 'We are an hour away from a cafe called Granny's. Will that be enough? He took me out for breakfast so that's all I got', I said with my fingers crossed. 'Yes! Ethal got it, Rina. I'm coming to get you in twenty-four hours. Do they have a lot of guards and do they have weapons?', he asked and I remembered seeing the place heavily guarded when we returned from breakfast.
'Yes... but Ryker, please don't kill Killian. He's just lost and it's not his fault. I think his father lied to him', I pleaded. 'Rina, I want you back and if he stands in my way I wont hold back. You're all that matters to me', he said and all I could feel was the anger coming from him. 'Ryker I miss you so much', my words soothed him. I released a breath.
'Renzo is going crazy and doesn't get me started on Spike and Brenton', he said with a huff making me smile. 'I miss them way more Ryker and I finally have my favourite', I teased. 'Oh this should be good', he said with excitement. 'You're Ryker. You're my favourite', I said and there was a bit of quietness then a huge cheer. 'On your faces bitches!', Ryker mind-linked making me laugh. 'I'll see you tomorrow baby', 'You bet your bouncy ass you will. I love you'.
