Ryker's POV

I woke up feeling like shit. My beasts are on edge and it's my fault. They all hate the fact that it's been months and we still haven't marked our mate. Coming to think of it we haven't even mated. I want to wait until she's ready but they're not patient anymore. I don't know why it's hard for them to understand that Rina needs time. I mean she's more comfortable around me than she was before which feels amazing. After the baby shower party I tried spicing things up but the moment my member found her entrance she started crying and even had a nightmare the same night so I decided to pull back and wait.

I looked at the clock and it was 3 am, not much has changed. I got out of bed quietly, careful not to wake her. I guess I have to get rid of the boner with another round of exercises. 'Captain, there're some activities by the east border', one of the warriors mind-linked me the moment I was done with a shower. I thanked the moon goddess. I needed a distraction. 'On my way', I said then opened the balcony and let Brenton take over, we flew to the border in seconds. Brenton could see a pack of rogues sniffing around the area, it was not news to us, the Royal Pack was the wealthiest and largest pack so seeing rogues was the usual.

Some came to seek refuge and some to try and sneak in and even take over the kingdom. I never discouraged them. 'This feels nice', Brenton said to me and I agreed, we both enjoyed the calmness the sky had to offer. 'I'd rather be buried in her cunt right now, I'm losing my mind', Spike complained making me release a breath. 'You can let me talk to her, I can persuade her better than all of you', Renzo chipped in. 'Guys, you saw how terrified she was, we need her to be ready. Can we forget about her for a second and do our job', I said hoping they would understand. 'It's been nine months! if we're talking about a child then it's born already', Spike was on the verge of breaking and I didn't blame him, werewolves are possessive beings and the fact that he is a Lycan makes it even worse.

Lycans are advanced werewolves, bigger, faster, and even more lethal but with that comes intensified feelings. Where a werewolf would feel sparks in a level of tickles a Lycan would feel them three times more so imagine finding your soulmate only to be told to hold back because she's dealing with human emotions.

'Spike, we know that you're hurting. I above all know what it's like to force a mate to succumb to what you want, it's not what you want to do to our mate. She's special, I can feel it. We have waited three hundred years for her, we can wait for three hundred more if we have to as long as we see her every day and you eat her up whenever you want', Brenton added the last part with a smirk on his huge face making me chuckle. 'You have a point, I've tasted a cunt once and let me tell ya... it was no way near as delicious as Rina's', he answered looking more relaxed. 'Sorry I lost control last time Ryker, if I hadn't pushed you, we wouldn't have been back to square one', he apologised making me smile. Spike never apologises and I was happy that having a mate is changing all of us.

'It's ok. Let's just get this over with', I said as Brenton landed behind the tree that had our clothes. He gave control back the moment we were back in human form. 'They look terrified', Spike said as we approached the rogues. I alerted the guards, telling them where the rogues were and that I had visual.

"What are you doing here?", I asked using my Alpha command. "Your Majesty, we seek protection, our pack was destroyed by superhumans and we are the only ones that survived", he said with a trembling voice but that wasn't the part that got to me. "What do you mean superhumans?", I asked with confusion. "Your Majesty, they could tear a werewolf in half in the blink of an eye and their veins were black, and so were their eyes, it's like they were possessed", he said while I watched the rest cower in fear as if they were recalling what they saw.

"You're safe here, you will have to tell the King about this. Gunner, take them in and help them freshen up, inform Ethal, and she will know what to do... the rest of you, I need more people around the perimeter, I have a feeling whatever this is, it will be knocking on our doors very soon", I said and let Renzo take over, he was fast and I needed to do a quick survey around the whole pack before the meeting with Abe.

'Are you and Rina, ok?', Mildred asked via mind-link. 'Yeah, why?', I asked but she remained silent, I was about to ask her again when she replied. 'I found her crying in your bathroom... I think it's the mate bond. You shouldn't leave her alone for long. Can you come to your wing? now?', she asked with sympathy.

It didn't surprise me, she was practically the mother of all supernaturals. 'Sorry, Milly there's something I need to talk to Abe about. I will come back when I can', I said knowing I was about to start a tornado. 'You're kidding right?', she asked and instead of answering blocked her.

I ended up finding ten more rogue families and they all had the same story. Something has changed with the Hunters; they are getting bold which usually happens when there is a change in power. Whoever this person is, he or she had to be taken down considering we didn't know who they rescued in Ronan's Pack.

Hunters never go through such length for normal agents so Ronan had to have their leader in that barn, we just couldn't tell which one it was.

"What the hell?", Ethal asked me when she saw me approaching the pack hospital with more people. "Yap, it's time to do what the crown employed us to do. Did the man tell you about the superhumans?", I asked Ethal who nod her head. "Something has changed", she said looking deep in thought. "Yap and I can't wait to go hunting", I said with a smirk.
