It was Christmas Eve night in Hailey and Jays household. They had just got their daughter ready for bed and put her Christmas pyjamas on her, they were a baby pink long sleeved top with a Santa on the front and a pair of long sleeved pyjama pants that were red and had candy canes on them. Jay sat on one of the chairs at their kitchen table and sat Harper on his lap while Hailey went and got a plate, a cup, a packet of biscuits, a packet of carrots and a carton of milk and brought it all over to the table. "Do you want to put stuff out for Santa and his reindeers Harper?" Hailey asked her, sitting herself down on the chair opposite her and Jay. "Yeah!" Harper said excitedly nodding her head and smiling. Jay poured the milk in the cup, Harper helped him by holding the bottom of the cartoon as he poured it. Once the milk was ready Jay set it aside so it couldn't get knocked over and spilled. Hailey then opened the packet of biscuits and carrots and handed one of each to Harper demonstrating to her to put them on the plate. She copied Haileys actions and placed the carrot and biscuit on the plate. Once that was done, Hailey took Harper through to her crib and got out a storybook about a Christmas bear and read it to her until she fell asleep. While Hailey was doing this Jay got himself ready for bed and now Hailey was getting ready for bed while Jay kept an ear out for Harper in case she woke up. Once Hailey was ready for bed, her and Jay went and got everything set up for Christmas morning, they wrapped a couple gifts they hadn't had time to wrap earlier and laid everything out so it was ready for the morning after they did that they made hot chocolates and went up to their bedroom to watch a Christmas movie. Once the movie finished they brushed their teeth and Jay checked on Harper before going back through to him and Haileys room so they could go to sleep.
Christmas morning Hailey and Jay were woken up at 7am by Harper, they went through to her room and Jay picked her up and gave her a hug and kiss. "Merry Christmas!." Hailey said to her placing a kiss on the top of her head. "Christmas!" Harper said smiling up at her mom. "Should we go see if Santa's been?" Jay said to his daughter as the two of them and Hailey started to head downstairs. "Yeah Santa!" Harper exclaimed excitedly with a big smile on her face. Once they got downstairs Jay placed Harper on her feet and she walked over to the Christmas tree where there was a pile of presents. "Look mommy and daddy!" She said pointing her finger towards the presents as her face lit up with joy. "Oh wow sweetheart! would you like to open some?" Hailey asked her. "Yes please." She said sitting herself on the floor beside the pile of presents and picking one up. Jay and Hailey sat next to her, showing excitement when she opened a gift, explaining what the things she was opening were and helping her take the paper off when she was struggling. Hailey also got her phone out and took a few photos of the three of them. Once Harper opened all of her presents Jay continued to sit with her and they took a couple of her presents out of the boxes such as building blocks and a elephant shaped ball popper, Jay played with her while Hailey went and made breakfast.
Hailey had made mini pancakes with Santa faces on them. The three of them sat at the table, Harper in her high chair and they began to eat. While they ate Hailey held up wooden shapes and told Harper what each one was called. After they finished eating Jay washed and dried the dishes while Hailey went and got Harper ready for the day she brushed her teeth, did her hair and got her dressed, she dressed her in a long sleeved red dress that had a white collar round the rim and did her hair in a half up half down ponytail. Hailey took some photos of her then went through to the living room with her, she told her to go over to Jay and do a spin. "You look beautiful sweetheart." He said letting out a little laugh and taking hold of her hand helping her do another spin. Jay and Hailey took turns getting ready one of them playing with Harper while the other person got ready for the day. After the three of them were ready, Jay put on the animated grinch movie as he thought Harper would like all the colours and lights in the movie and he was right even though she didn't sit still to watch it she would sit for a couple minutes at a time and watch it before going back to play with her toys and even when she was playing with her toys she would still look up at the tv every so often.
Will was coming over to Jay and Haileys soon as they were going to be having Christmas dinner together and spending the evening together. He was bringing soup he made for their starter and he was also bringing a cake for their dessert so all Hailey and Jay had to do was make and prepare the main meal. Jay prepared the meat they were having and Hailey prepared the vegetables and potatoes, they were able to get the preparation done quickly as they could see Harper from the kitchen so one person didn't need to be sitting right next to her. Once everything was prepped and ready to go in the oven Hailey gave Harper a bottle of milk then took her through to her room to put her down for a nap. After she fell asleep Hailey went through to the living room and sat on the couch next to Jay they took this time to exchange gifts with each other and talk.
Just over two hours had passed now. Harper was now awake and Jay had just let Will in through the door he was now walking into the living room. "Uncle Will!" Harper said as soon as she seen him scrambling to her feet and going over to him. "Hi Harps." He said picking her up and throwing her up in the air then catching her before giving her a big hug. Hailey was heating up the soup in the kitchen while Jay and Will sat having a catch up playing with Harper at the same time. Hailey served the soup and they all came and sat down to eat it, Jay placing Harper in her high chair again. They spent all three courses talking and doing silly things to make harper laugh like Will making funny faces at her, Jay doing peek a boo with her and Hailey pretending to tickle her then actually going to tickle her. For all three courses Harper ate very similar to the adults except Hailey had gave her way smaller portions and had all the food cut up into smaller pieces so she didn't choke on any of it. Hailey had set aside other food she knew Harper liked in case she wasn't a fan of the Christmas dinner courses but Harper enjoyed all the food and did a really good job eating it so Hailey was happy about that.
After they had all finished dinner. They all went through to the living room. Jay went to do the dishes and Hailey said she would dry them but Will insisted on drying them as Hailey had cooked all the food and got them all their drinks so while the two brothers were in the kitchen doing the dishes Hailey sat on the couch with Harper who had came and rested her head on Haileys lap, Haileys heart melted she loved cuddles with her daughter, she ran her fingers through Harpers hair as that seemed to keep her calm. They stayed like this until the guys came through and mentioned presents as Will had presents for the three of them and they had presents for him. Will started by placing a present in the middle of the floor that was for Harper he would of handed it to her but it was far too big to go on her lap or for her to hold. Harper got off of Hailey's lap that she had been sitting on and went over to the present, she began tearing the paper off and revealed a baby pink rocking horse. "Wow." Harper said her eyes wide with shock and a smile on her lips as she was happy about the present. "Thank you uncle Will." She said going over to him and giving him a hug. "You're so welcome, do you want to play with it?" He asked her. She nodded going over to it and sitting on it, Will showed her how to make it rock and she got the hang of it very quickly. While she played on that Will, Jay and Hailey exchanged presents with each other then they sat for a while playing games with Harper.
After a while Jay left the living room and then returned with the karaoke machine in his hands. Hailey put her face in the palm of her hand as soon as she seen him come through with it. She had heard the two of them do karaoke before and they weren't the worst in the world but she knew how into it they got. Jay and Will done a few songs before Harper came along wanting a microphone Jay handed her the one he was using and she began saying words into it and doing a little shimmy to the music. She had Jay, Hailey and Will in a fit of giggles as they joined in and started dancing with her too. Jay picked her up and danced with her in his arms. They did this for a while before Harper began to yawn, it was almost her bed time and she was getting tired so Will said his goodbyes and left then Hailey and Jay got Harper ready for bed, they put her in a quick bath got her pyjamas on her and her hair and teeth brushed, then they got her to sleep. They then got theirselves ready for bed and did a little clean of the living room before going up to bed and watching tv until their eye lids got heavy and they decided to go to sleep for the night.
