The team had been looking for Hailey all day since she'd been kidnapped. Everyone was doing everything they could to try find her. From tracking devices, looking at footage from every single traffic camera, driving around to question certain people that might know something and searching every building she could possibly of been taken to. Everyone was feeling all different emotions, especially Jay such as fear, upset, anxiety, anger, frustration and desperation. They all just wanted to find her and see that she was okay and alive. After one dead end after another they finally found the location Hailey was being held at thanks to a suspect they had just brought in that blurted it out after a bit of persuasion in panic and fear. The whole team went to the location and as soon as they arrived they got out of their cars. Some people stood outside to cover different entrances and exits, ensuring they covered them all so the suspects didn't have any way of escaping them. A scream was heard and some of the team ran inside. Two men ran for one of the doors at the back of the building but ran into Adam and Kevin who knew these were the offenders due to evidence they had got earlier on in the day so they got cuffed and put in the back of cars. Everyone else began searching the building for any sign of Hailey. Jay had went up a small set of stairs that led to a door and the sight he was met with when he opened it filled him with relief and sadness, it was Hailey.
Hailey was sat up with her head down, both of her hands and feet were tied to a large pipe with cable ties. "Hailey" Jay said his tone full of relief, "I've found her, I'll get her and we will be out soon." Jay said into his radio, notifying the team. He began walking over to her and leaned down to untie her. She lifted her head at the sound of his voice and as soon as she seen him and how near he was to her a panicked look washed over her and she filled up with fear. "Stay away from me, don't come any closer, don't touch me!" She shouted sounding absolutely terrified. Jay moved back from her a little bit and held his hands up. "Hails it's me. It's Jay. I won't come near you if you don't want me to but you really need to get untied." Jay said staying still and keeping his hands up, his voice quiet and calm, trying not to startle her. Jays calm quiet demeanour didn't seem to do anything though as Hailey had began to shake slightly and her breathing became rapid she had no control of it, tears had started running down her face and her heart began to race. She was having a panic attack and Jay knew she was as he'd seen her have one before. Jay couldn't manage to comfort her or calm her down in any way because she wasn't letting him near her, he done what he could, telling her to take deep breaths and focus on certain things but nothing seemed to be working. He noticed that she had some blood on her face and a couple cuts so he assumed she'd been hit in some way either by an object or by someone's hand, this explained how she was reacting because on top of being kidnapped she'd been physically assaulted, which was something Hailey was sadly all too familiar with and Jay knew it would of certainly brought up bad memories and past traumas she had experienced. He really needed to find a way to get her to recognise him so she would calm down and would stop being so upset and scared.
Jay suddenly remembered that he had Haileys wedding ring in his pocket, she had to take it off since she was undercover so she gave it to Jay and he was keeping it for her until she was done being undercover so she could wear it again. He knew If he could get the ring on her finger maybe she'd recognise him. He didn't want to scare her by approaching her but he had no other option, he slowly walked towards her and sat down on the floor opposite her, she looked at him the whole time he was approaching her but she never said anything she was too busy trying to calm her rapid breathing. He sat quietly not saying a word while she took deep breaths. After a while she just had silent tears streaming down her face. She had panicked so much for such a long period of time that she exhausted herself. Jay got his hands and brought them up to hers, hovering them over hers in case she panicked again or said something. She never did, she was too tired, she had no fight or screams left in her. Jay undid all the cable ties and took Haileys wedding ring out of his jean pocket, taking her left hand and placing the ring on her finger. She looked at it in confusion for a moment, inspecting it and twisting it around her finger.
Her eyes lit up in realisation as her eye contact moved from the ring on her finger to Jay and then back to the ring again and then to Jay who was sitting on the ground in front of her, she done this a few times looking back and forth between the ring on her hand and Jay before she actually spoke. "Jay." Was all she said sighing in relief, lifting her hand up to brush her thumb over his cheek, almost checking that he was definitely real and was actually in front of her and she wasn't imagining him. "Hi Hails, it's me, you're safe now." Jay said placing his hand on top of her one that was resting on his face and removing it grabbing a hold of both her hands in his and giving them a gentle squeeze. "I can't believe I didn't recognise you at first." She said shocked that she didn't recognise her husband. "It's alright, you've recognised me now and you're safe, we've just got to get you checked out to make sure everything's okay and then we can go home, the team are waiting to see you, do you feel alright to get up and walk?" Jay questioned and Hailey nodded. Hailey got up with help from Jay and as soon as they stood up they fell into each others embrace. Hailey wrapping her arms around Jays waist and Jay wrapping his arms around haileys shoulders, they stood in each others embrace for a while. Both of them began to cry tears of happiness, they had both thought that they'd lost each other and they felt so relieved to be with each other again. "I love you Jay." Hailey said moving back from the hug to look at him. "I love you too Hailey so much." He replied back to her cupping her face in his hands and kissing her lips. "I'm never letting you out of my sight again after what happened today." Jay said after they had pulled back from the kiss, resting his forehead against hers. "After what happened today I don't want to be out of your sight either." Hailey said. They went and found the rest of the team and Hailey got checked over, luckily she didn't have any extreme injuries just a couple cuts and bruises. Jay took good care of her throughout the recovery process and not just the physical healing but the mental side of it to and after a while things were slowly going back to how they were before apart from a couple things like Haileys heightened anxiety and nightmares but Jay was there to comfort her through all of it.
