Jay and Hailey had been together for around a month now, they still hadn't told anyone else about their relationship as they wanted to keep it private at the moment but they had started staying at each other's places. Tonight Hailey was staying at Jays, they'd had a busy day at work and wanted to have a chill night together. On the way to Jays they decided to pick up burgers and fries because they couldn't be bothered to stand and cook a meal.
After they picked up the food they drove to Jays and as soon as they got in the front door they took of their shoes and jackets and put away their guns and badges, then they washed their hands and started eating their food. They were sat at the table in jays kitchen just talking to each other while they ate. After they finished eating they cleared the wrappers and cardboard from the food away, then they went and showered and got ready for bed doing their usual routines washing their faces and brushing their teeth and since Hailey had stayed over at jays multiple times now she had a toothbrush she kept at his and also a face wash and moisturiser along with some clothes and other little things like a hairbrush, deodorant, lip balm etc.
Once they both finished getting ready for bed and they felt all clean and fresh, they got into jays bed and put on a movie. It hadn't even got half way through the movie before Hailey fell asleep, Jay had looked over at her as he had said something about the movie and she didn't respond. He let out a small quiet laugh and smiled at her admiring how peaceful she looked, he continued watching the movie, glancing over at Hailey every so often to check she was still sleeping and that she was alright.
Jay was still watching the movie it only had around 5-10 minutes left now and Hailey had began to stir, she had been woken up by severe cramping pains in her stomach and she didn't even need to look down she could feel it. She had just gotten her period. She didn't even think about the fact it was due to come within the next few days and this was the first time she had got it while being with Jay, she knew she had leaked through on to Jays bedsheets and she began to panic. Even though she knew it was natural and she couldn't help it she still felt embarrassed about what had happened and nervous about what jays reaction would be. Jay had looked over and seen that Hailey had woken up. "Hey did I wake you? Im sorry if I did" He said noticing that Hailey looked slightly nervous, her cheeks had a red tint to them and he could just tell by her overall demeanour that something wasn't quite right. "Are you okay Hails?" He asked. "No not really also I'm so so sorry, the reason I woke up was because I had pain in my stomach but I've just gotten my period and It got on your sheets, I'm really sorry, I'm so embarrassed I'll change the sheets." She told him it's not like she could hide it. "Hey hey it's alright you have nothing to be embarrassed about these things happen, would you like to go in a shower to clean up and I can change the sheets." He didn't want her to feel embarrassed and he honestly didn't mind changing the sheets. "Are you sure? I can do it considering it's my fault." She felt bad. She didn't want him to have to do that. "Yes I'm absolutely sure, you go have a nice warm shower." Hailey made her way to the bathroom managing to get there without leaking anywhere else considering it was an en suit attached to jays bedroom so she didn't have far to walk thankfully. Jay got up, he stripped and changed the bedsheets, putting the blood stained sheets in the wash and replacing them with fresh clean bedding. He then got a towel and a pair of pyjamas and clean underwear out for Hailey knocking on the door before opening it taking the other clothes she was wearing and putting them in the wash and placing the clean items of clothing on the side in the bathroom so she could put them on when she was finished. Since this was Haileys first time having a period while staying at Jays she didn't have any pads or tampons in his bathroom, she luckily had a couple of each in her bag though that she always carried with her in case she or anyone else ever needed them, so he went into her bag, got the products out and gave them to her.
A few minutes later Hailey came out of the bathroom in her nice clean pyjamas. She was still feeling extremely embarrassed. "You know I understand if you want to leave me after that, I can go home if you want honestly I don't mind." As soon as she said this Jays facial expression turned to complete shock. "Hailey I don't want to leave you and I also don't want you to leave and go home, I want you to stay right here. You honestly have nothing to be embarrassed about at all, what happened wasn't your fault, it wasn't in your control and like I said before these things happen so please don't give yourself a hard time or feel embarrassed you never have to feel embarrassed around me you know that." He reassured her wanting to make her feel better about the situation and wanting her to understand it's okay. She came and sat beside him on the bed and buried her face into his chest. He kissed the top of her head before placing his hands on her shoulders and gently pushing her away from him slightly so he could see her face. He smiled at her "Hails I promise it's okay, are you in any pain? Do you need anything?" He questioned wanting to do anything to make her as comfy as possible and help ease any pain she may be having. "My stomach is really sore, I have cramps." She said Jay told her to lie down in bed and get comfortable then he went and got a bottle of water and some ibuprofen for her, he also managed to find a heat pack at the back of his cupboard, he kept them in case he ever got injured or had any muscle pain and needed something to help give the injury or muscle some relief. He went through to the bedroom with all the stuff, he handed Hailey the water and 2 ibuprofen and once she took them Jay applied the heat pack to her stomach. "I really appreciate the way you acted earlier, you made me feel better and less embarrassed, so thank you." Hailey said looking at Jay "you don't need to thank me Hails, I wouldn't of acted any other way because I care about you and you deserved to feel as comfortable as possible, as long as we're together I'll do anything to make sure your always comfortable in all situations." He said placing a long kiss to the top of her head.
Hailey moved into the most comfortable position she could find. Most comfortable meaning one that made her cramps the least intense because even though she took painkillers and had a heat pack on she still felt some discomfort. She laid on her side and Jay wrapped his arms around her from behind being careful to not hurt her stomach as the last thing he wanted to do was cause her any extra pain on top of the pain she was already feeling. They exchanged goodnights and both ended up falling asleep.
