The whole of intelligence were currently at a scene as they had been called to it. There had been a shooting in a hotel and intelligence had came to investigate it and help out. They all looked around the hotel as soon as they got there to see if they could find anything useful such as evidence of some sort. Now everyone was stood huddled together outside discussing different jobs people would be doing. Voight and Adam were going to go talk to some people that were working at the hotel, Kevin and Kim were going to gather any CCTV footage, footage from pods and they were going to see if they could run facial recognition on any of the shooters. Jay and Hailey were going to talk to witnesses and try to get any information from people that could help them ID the suspects.
Everyone was just about to go and get on with their separate jobs when Hailey looked up due to the sound of a familiar voice. Her Dad. "Hey Hailey, hey come here." He said in a loud voice, ushering her to come over to him with his hand, he was standing behind the police tape in amongst a handful of other people, most of them waiting on updates about the shooting. Hailey paused for a second before speed walking over to him. "Hey dad you probably shouldn't be here right now." Hailey said trying to hide the uneasiness she was feeling. "I'm here now and I'm wanting to talk to you and you're too busy playing police detective to engage in a conversation with me." He said with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "I'm not playing anything I am a police detective, I'm doing my job." Hailey stated the obvious. "You still hung up on the past and you're childhood hmm? Is that why you're treating me this way?" He questioned staring at her with an angry expression. Hailey paused for a moment to try compose herself, not wanting to make him angry or set him off at all especially considering how out in the open they were. "You know what dad I have to go and you need to leave." Hailey was frustrated and angry and you could hear it in her voice as it got a fraction louder. "Don't raise your voice at me young lady." He said raising his own voice and pulling up the police tape so he could duck under it, Hailey just stood looking at him in shock. The whole time this conversation was happening the rest of the team were stood watching from a distance as they all knew bits and pieces about Haileys past and they didn't want anything to happen to her so they were watching ready to intervene if they needed to. Jay was more worried and on edge watching this conversation than the others were just because he knew so much more about Hailey's past and so many more little details that made him feel worried. "Dad you can't be over this tape it's not allowed and interfering with a scene like this in any way is a crime, you need to go back to the other side, I'm not going to ask you again." Hailey stood her ground with him, she was doing her job and no one was allowed to get in the way of that. "Are you threatening me." He said shouting in her face. "I've got things to do that I'm in charge of, I'm ordering you to leave this scene and if you don't listen to me I'll get someone else to come remove you." She said in a firm voice, trying not to let his shouting or close proximity phase her. "What did you say?" He knew exactly what she said but he was shocked that she was standing her ground and he also didn't like that at all. "You heard me." Was all she said before she turned around to walk away from him. As soon as she turned around he grabbed her ponytail and yanked her backwards.
She stumbled back and hit her head off of the concrete. The team ran over straight away all of them went to deal with her dad apart from Jay who ran straight over to Hailey. Jay wanted nothing more than to hurt the man that hurt the love of his life but he knew that probably wasn't the best idea especially with how much Hailey hated violence. Also checking if Hailey was okay was his number one priority right now. Hailey was now sat up with her head between her knees and she had both hands holding it. "Hails. I'm so sorry this happened." Jay said sitting on the ground next to Hailey and rubbing his hand up and down her back. "Can I check your head please." He asked her in a gentle tone, she just lifted her head up slowly and gave him a small nod. Jay looked at her head closely, luckily there was no blood well at least not any he could visibly see anywhere. "I don't feel right Jay, my head feels like it's going to explode." She groaned screwing her eyes shut and holding her head in her hands again. They stayed sat on the ground for just over five minutes until Jay decided they should probably get up, he was going to take her to his car and take her home. He had been trying for the past five to ten minutes to get her to let one of the paramedics check her over as some of them were still on the scene but she kept refusing and saying no. So he decided going home and then getting his brother Will to come check her over was the best thing to do. He stood up then leaned down to help Hailey stand up she stumbled a little bit when she first stood on her feet but when Jay asked if she was okay she just shook it off and said it was because she was feeling a tiny bit dizzy due to hitting her head.
They were now both in the car and had just arrived outside of their apartment. Jay got out of the car and went round to open the passenger door for Hailey. He helped her out of the car and Hailey stood for a minute in front of the passenger door as she was feeling lightheaded again when she got up out of the car. She stood for a couple minutes and went to walk with Jay inside their apartment when a wave of nausea washed over her and she actually ended up throwing up. Jay comforted her through it and helped calm her down. As soon as she finished throwing up she leaned into Jays side and rested her head on his shoulder letting out a big sigh. He just held her in his arms and they stood in silence for a moment until Jay spoke. "Please can you let me phone Will so I can tell him what's going on and get some advice on how to help you?" Hailey stopped leaning on Jay so he could get his phone out of his pocket and phone Will. Jay told him what had happened with Hailey and all the symptoms she had been showing since she hit her head. Will told him that he needs to bring her in to the hospital to get checked over as she could possibly have a concussion. Once Jay got off the phone he told Hailey what Will said to him and she finally agreed to go get checked out as she knew she couldn't get out of going, so Jay drove her to the hospital and they went in and she got seen by Will. He ran some scans and tests and once all of them came back, they found out she did in fact have a concussion. Will monitored her for a little while and then told her the steps she would need to follow and the things she would need to do in order to get better. Jay took care of her throughout her whole recovery and Will phoned Jay every day to check in on her.
