Christmas was approaching, Jay and Hailey had spent the day finishing off their Christmas shopping and had started wrapping the presents up that they'd bought for people. They had just cleaned all the paper, tape and gift tags away and were now getting ready to leave the house as Jay had booked a dinner reservation for them since he wanted to take Hailey out on a date. All he told Hailey was that the place was a fancy restaurant. He had on a white long sleeved shirt, black trousers and black shoes and Hailey was wearing a mid length dark red dress with long sleeves and black winter boots. They both wore jackets until they got into the restaurant as the air was chilly due to it being the middle of December.

Hailey gasped as soon as her and Jay entered the restaurant absolutely blown away by how beautiful the interior of it was. There was a massive chandelier hanging down from the middle of the ceiling, white walls with beautiful paintings on them, a statue in a couple of the different corners of the place and each table had candles in the middle of it. Once they got taken to their table Jay pulled out a chair so Hailey could sit down then once he knew she was comfortable he went and sat down opposite her. They got sat next to one of the windows so they got to overlook Chicago which was just amazing. "Jay this place is so beautiful, thank you for bringing me here." Hailey said moving her eyes away from the view and looking at him. "You're so welcome Hails. You look so beautiful." He said smiling at her. They got a bottle of wine to share and began to drink their first glasses while they waited for their food to come. Jay ordered a steak and Hailey ordered a chicken Parmesan. "Do you think we missed out anyone today while we were shopping for presents?" Hailey was stressing as they both had a handful of people to buy for and she didn't want to forget about anyone. "No I don't think so but if it makes you feel better we can look at the list we made tomorrow morning to double check." Jay said trying to calm her stress. They just continued talking to each other about different things until their food came. Once it came they had another glass of wine each with their meals, then they ordered desserts and ate them. Jay got a slice of chocolate cake and Hailey got a slice of strawberry cheesecake, once they finished their meals and paid they left, stepping back outside into the streets of Chicago.

They both decided to go on a walk round one of the parks that was just down the road from the restaurant they went to. The only light they had for most of the walk was just from the street lights. They had been walking through the park for just over ten minutes and all that had surrounded them so far was trees and grass until they found a fountain at the end of the path they were walking on. They decided to get closer and walked over to it. It was really tall and made of light grey stone it was surrounded by white lights so it stood out from everything else around it. Hailey had gotten closer to it, taking a look at the water and the fountain as a whole. "Hailey?" Jay said wanting to get her attention. As soon as she turned round to face him he took hold of her hands in his and took a deep breath before he made eye contact with her and started speaking. "Hailey. You're one of the best things that has even happened to me and I'm so grateful to have you in my life. I love you and I've known for years that I've wanted it to be you and me always and that I want to spend the rest of my life with you so..." He got down on one knee and let go of her hands to take something out of his pocket, it was a small square box, he got out a simple but sparkly silver ring and held it out in front of her. "Hailey will you marry me?" There was a moment of silence. Hailey's eyes had welled up with tears and Jay panicked for a moment thinking he had made her upset but all his panic was eased just as quickly as it came when she put her left hand out and replied "Yes. Yes I will." She said while nodding her head tears of happiness now running down her face. He slid the ring onto her finger and held her hand admiring how the ring looked on it. Then he stood up and they held each other, Jays hands holding the back of Haileys neck while Hailey placed her hands on Jays back, they shared a kiss full of so many different emotions. Love. Happiness and just complete passion.
