Special package from two- Part 2

Here's a part two to my previous one shot requested by @LouWalker0 I hope this is written the way you imagined:)

Jay decided to FaceTime Hailey so he could let her know he got the parcel she sent him and so they could have a catch up, they needed to have one anyway as it had been a while since they last spoke but after the news he had just got he knew now more then ever they needed one as soon as possible.

Hailey had just gotten back from work and was currently sat at her dining table eating a bowl of pesto pasta with chicken. She was flipping through a magazine while she ate but her attention was diverted away from what she was reading to her phone that was placed on the table beside her as it had began to ring and when she looked over at it she seen Jays name pop up, he was FaceTiming her. As soon as Hailey seen this she began to feel anxious and scared as this was the first time he had contacted her since she sent the parcel with the news enclosed in it and she had a feeling he had received it and that's why he was contacting her. Besides this fear deep down she could feel her excitement, she was excited to talk to him and get told how he felt about the news, she hoped he was excited the same way she was. She took one huge deep breath before pressing the green accept button and placing her phone up against the bowl she had in front of her so he could see her clearly when the call connected. "Hi Hails." Jay said once the call finally connected, he had a small smile present on his lips. "Hi Jay." Hailey said smiling back at him. "I got your package." He turned the camera around and showed the box to the camera it was laying open at the end of his bed. "I'm glad it got to you okay. I'm guessing you've probably read the letters and looked at everything in it." She said a hint of hesitation in her voice as she couldn't tell how he was feeling or what he was currently thinking. "Yes I've seen it all and I'm so excited Hailey. I can't wait to do parenthood with you and raise our kid together." When he told her this his smile grew 10 times bigger. "I'm so glad to hear that, I was so worried cause I had no idea how you were going to react and the fact I couldn't tell you in person made it even worse." She said sighing in relief at his response. "Aw Hails I know this isn't easy, I want nothing more than to be there by your side to help you and come to our baby's appointments with you. We're going to get through this I promise and everything is going to be alright. How has the pregnancy been so far anyway, any physical symptoms or issues, how's our baby?" Jay asked concerned about Hailey, he hated the idea of her being in any pain or discomfort and him not being by her side to comfort and help her. He was also curious about the baby and wanted to know everything Hailey currently knew. "Baby's all good as far as I'm aware, the doctor has no concerns at all which is good. The actual pregnancy on the other hand has been a little rough I'm not gonna lie, I've had bad morning sickness and nausea which has made eating a little difficult and I've been really tired but that's pretty much it." She told him then showed him her little baby bump. "That sounds really rough, I'm so sorry I can't be there, you know if I could be I would." Hailey could hear the sadness in Jays voice, she knew he was struggling with the fact he wasn't with her and she suddenly got an idea that would possibly make him feel a little bit better. "I've got an idea that might make things a little easier for you and might make you feel a little bit better. How about I send you like an update package every month until you can finally come home, I could put like an updated ultrasound picture, a bump picture and a letter or note that has updates on me and the baby that way you'll always be up to date and know what's going on, I know it's not the same as being here in person but it's still something at least." Hailey thought this was a really good idea and the whole time she was explaining it Jay was just listening to her and smiling, he loved how considerate she was and really appreciated that she was willing to go through that effort every month just so he felt in the loop. "I really like that idea and I'd really appreciate if you did that. I'm really sorry I don't want to end the call but I've really got to go, I can't wait to see you soon, I love you so much and I'll speak to you soon." Jay said. "It's okay I understand, I'll definitely do that for you so expect another package soon, please be safe! It's not only me who needs you to come home in one piece anymore, I'll see you soon, I love you." Hailey replied back to him before hanging up the FaceTime call.

Time skip- five months
Hailey was now six months pregnant, she was on desk duty at the district now and her symptoms had changed from what they were earlier on in the pregnancy, she was now having back ache due to her still growing bump and heart burn on a daily basis which had slowly began to ease as she was avoiding certain foods that made it worse. She had been sending Jay packages every month and they had continued to FaceTime whenever they were both available to do so. She still didn't know the gender of the baby as her and Jay agreed to wait and find out at birth. She still hadn't been able to see Jay in person at all either and she had no idea when she was going to be seeing him.

Hailey was currently sitting at her desk in the district looking into a couple different suspects they had linked to a case that the team wanted to know more about. Hailey was the only one upstairs as everyone else was out working on a case. She had been sat for 30 minutes writing down information, printing things off and occasionally talking on the phone when she heard the gate to the bullpen open and heard someone walking up the stairs. Since it was only one pair of feet she was hearing she thought it was just Trudy coming up to bring her something but when she looked up from the keyboard in front of her computer she saw the one person she least expected. "Jay?!" Hailey said speed walking over to him "surprise!" he said dropping his bags on the floor and putting his arms out so Hailey could walk into them. She wrapped her arms around him standing at his side as she couldn't hug him properly from the front due to her bump, she squeezed him tightly before pulling her head back from in between his arm and looking at him, "what are you doing here?" She asked confused. "I got early leave from Bolivia so I'm home now for the rest of your pregnancy and for the baby being born." He said smiling at her before getting his hand and cupping her cheek and leaning down to kiss her lips, eventually they both pulled away for air and Jay stepped back looking Hailey up and down then everting his eyes back to her bump. He placed his hands on it for a minute just admiring it, his child was in there and it was the first time he had ever seen Hailey's bump in person, he kneeled down placing a kiss onto it before standing up and hugging Hailey again. "You're amazing Hailey, I'm so glad I'm here with you now and we can do the rest of this together by each others sides." Jay said kissing the top of his wife's head.

Hailey had been catching Jay up on what she had been doing at work and they spoke about how she was finding desk duty when the rest of the team came back. Voight, Kevin, Kim, Adam and Torres all walked into the bull pen and as soon as they all seen Jay sitting with Hailey they gasped in a mix of excitement and shock. "Surprise!" He said to them all as they stood in front of him. They all exchanged a mix of "hello's" and "welcome backs" with Jay then they all sat down and were able to have a catch up as they had just wrapped up the case they were all working on. All of them sat and spoke for hours and eventually Jay and Hailey went home to their apartment. They spent most of the night talking and just spending quality time with each other and by the end of their conversations they both felt like they were on the same page and went to sleep with this new found appreciation and gratitude towards getting to be with each other in person.
