ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ

It was middle of the night. I was in home with Mateo, Charles was traveling for the first race of the season. Mateo was sick and i need to take care of him alone because Charles is too busy with racing. Mateo have a temperature and he's throwing up every 10 minutes. I'm tired because i didn't have any sleep. I just needed Charles to be here and help me with his son. I tried to call him but his phone is dead. I knew that i was alone in this. Mateo was half asleep on me when he wakes up and mumble

Mommy I'm not feeling good i think i will throw up again.

I hugged him and take him to the bathroom. It was hard night for us but i was still awake trying to help my kid to feel better.

He mumble something again

Where is daddy? Why he's not home with us?

My eyes start watering up

Daddy needs to be at work for the weekend baby, we will see him after that.

Mateo start crying a little

I miss daddy...I want to see him!

I felt the same way..I really wanted Charles to be here with us even if our relationship is not in a good moment but...

Okay baby are you feeling better we can go to bed for some rest, i promise tomorrow we will watch daddy from the TV. He will try to make us proud! But he wants us to have some sleep.

Mateo nods and i take him to his bed giving him gently kiss and turn the lights off.

I go to our bedroom with Charles..After everything i really miss him. I tried to call him again but his phone is still dead.
I make my way to the bathroom to have some time for myself. Of course i take my phone there if Charles finally call me by any chance.

Charles's pov:

I'm flying with Carlos to Bahrain. My phone is dead and I'm really worried about Maddy and Mateo so after so much trying to charge my phone i ask Carlos for his phone

Mate my phone is fucking dead! I'm worried about Maddy and Mateo i left them in a bad moment..Mateo is really sick and Maddy can't take care of him alone. Can i please use yours to call her?

Carlos is happy how protective I'm to Maddy and Mateo so he give him his phone. I stand and start walking nervously.

My phone start ringing and i immediately go and answer it. I hear Charles's voice and I start crying. I sit on the floor and start talking with him

Maddy! Are you okay? Why are you crying? Is everything okay with Mateo? Tell me! I'm so worried!

I sighed with tiredness
Mattie is okay he's sleeping. It's just...it's just too much Charles! - i started breaking down - it's too much! I need you! I fucking need you i admit it! It doesn't matter if you put us after racing or before it i don't fucking care i need you! I love you Charles!

Charles was trying to not cry after hearing me crying like that. I can hear that Carlos is trying to calm him down.

I'm sorry for leaving you like that. I didn't want to! I never wanted to put racing before you and Mateo..I was just scared of being a father. But i see you..the best mother inspiration! I want to be the best dad for Mattie and the best boyfriend for you! I miss you so much. I promise i will give my best this weekend.

I laugh a little
Mattie miss you too. He was literally crying for you. I know you will give your best Charlie, we love you so much.

Charles eyes start watering up because i hear Carlos saying
*Don't cry mate! Do it for them!*
