At the morning we were getting ready to go to the paddock.

"Mommy my head hurts.." - Mateo tap my leg while i was getting ready
"Like a headache?"
"I think so.."
"Charles can you come for a minute?" - i shout to him and he come to us
"Everything okay?" - he look at us
"Mateo's head hurts..maybe I'm too paranoid but should we be worried?" - i look at him
"I'm not sure, they can check him in the medical centre if we want to be sure for his health."
"It will be good thanks."
"Everything for you two darling."

We head down to the car, i was still worried for Mateo. If it wasn't hurting that bad he was not going to tell me..

What if something is not right...

"Baby, calm down. I'm sure he'll be okay."
"I hope so."

When we arrive at the track Mateo told us his headache is gone so i kinda calm down a little bit.

"I need to get in the car now, if there's something again go directly to the medical centre." - he kiss my head and hug Mateo tight
"Okay..."
"Don't panic, you're doing amazing as a mom." - he pull me for a hug too
"Thank you baby." - i slowly nod and we head to his garage

We watched the half of the practice as Mateo told me again he doesn't feel okay

"Mommy, i-i can't breath. My headache is back again." - he was holding me tight crying
"Mattie, tell me where it hurts?" - i was breathing anixety trying to calm down
"Everywhere!" - he was still crying
"Okay, stay with daddy's engineer, i will go talk with daddy."

I run to the pitlane and Mattia look at me

"Maddy? All good? Charles told me about Mateo?"
"No, no, no. Nothing's fine. Can i talk with Charles."
"Go ahead."

I was almost crying while i was trying to talk.

"Charlie..."
"What's wrong darling? Are you crying?"
"Mattie..he..he is not okay. His headache is back he was hardly breathing. Please..."
"Yes, I'm coming. Go to him and calm down."

I go back to his garage where Xavi was holding Mateo

"He dozed off."
"Is he breathing normally?"
"Hardly..."

I take Mateo from his arms and he slowly opened his eyes

"Mommy it hurts.."
"I know baby, daddy is coming. They will check you here."

Charles rush into his garage and come straight to us.

"Maybe i wasn't right. Let's go to check him." - he wrap his hand around us and we quickly go to the medical centre

They checked him and go out to us

"Charles he have pneumonia. Here we can't do anything for that. He needs to get in a hospital for a few days then few days only rest."
"Then we are going home." - he look at me
"No, Charlie. This already cost you the championship. Let's balance them baby. We will-"
"But this cost our son's health."
"Charlie..it's your work. I can go home with him. We will take care of him and when you're back home you'll see us. I want you to win this for us."
"Baby i-"
"Baby..i told you. You're staying." - i grab his face in my hands and kiss him
"I can't...i'm also worried for him. I want him to be around me."
"He wants you too but now you need to take seriously your work and mission. Don't forget for who you are doing this. In Abu Dhabi we will be healthy but if you leave you're not going to be a champion. That's not what we want okay?"
"If I'm not around he'll think i don't want to and i prefer racing before him and you..." - he look down
"I will explain him. He's not a child anymore he understands and he will understand this." - i kiss him

I take Mateo out of the room and we head to the hotel, Charles also with us.

He wanted to explain him why he needs to stay.

"I'll leave you two talk. Like mans. I'm going to get out stuff ready."
"Thank you." - he nod slowly

Charles*

We get in the room, Maddy go to pack their stuff while we are talking.

"Daddy are you coming with us?"
"That's for what we need to talk Mattie..
You know how much i love you and mommy and the baby in mommy's belly.
But I'm a racing driver, i drive to win races and title for this year. I never preferred racing before you and mommy but now i need to stay here because if i leave I'm not going to be a champion. I want to be champion for you two and my dad. You remember him?"
"Yes, Hervé. The best granddad."

My eyes were full of tears. He thinks that even if he didn't know him at all.

"I do it for Jules too. I never told you about Jules but he was my good friend, he was with me always and he was helping me a lot to become a racing driver. This year i can possibly win it for all of you and make you proud. I'm sorry I can't come home with you and mommy."

He looked at me for few seconds then hug me tight.

"No need to be sorry daddy. I love you so much. I'm sure granddad and Jules are so proud of you. Me and mommy also!"
"I love you too buddy, i will win this for you. It will be a win dedicate to you."
"Thank you daddy! You're the best!"

I drive them to the airport and helped them with the stuff.

Mateo was shattered so he was asleep.

"Please call me when you arrive. Call Arthur if you need something." - i kiss her passionately and wrap my hands around her waist
"Baby, you'll be late for your second practice. We will be okay." - she stroke my hair and smile

She perfectly know that is hard for me to let them go back home without me. But she is mature enough to deal alone when I can't be with her.

"It feels like a nightmare for me because I'm not coming."
"Shh, i know. It's fine." - she kiss me again
"I need to go..."
"Go baby, we will be okay."

Maddy*

I get in the plane and Charles left for the track again. Mateo was still sleeping hugging his teddy bear he bought from home.

We landed in Monaco, i called Artur to bring us some clothes and stuff for the hospital.

"Why you need stuff? Why hospital?"
"Long story Arth. I will explain you."

I was trying to balance Mateo on my hip while i was talking with Arthur.

They take us in the hospital and take Mateo for tests. Arthur come with our stuff.

"Here is your stuff and Mateo's one. Are you okay?"
"I'm tired, he have pneumonia. We need to stay here. He's birthday is on Tuesday...i really don't want him to spend it in the hospital." - i literally start crying
"Hey, he's not going to spend it in a hospital. He will be okay." - he pull me for a hug and i cried in his arms for some time
"Maddy, it's okay. I'm sure he's fine. Everything will be okay. Do you want me to buy food for you two."
"Yes, i will call Charles and i will try to take a nap." - i nod slowly

Arthur left for food and I finally called Charles

"Hey darling, all good? How's Mateo?"
"They're still doing tests. I'm in his room. I'm so tired. I only think about that he can spend his fourth birthday in the hospital."
"Darling, we will do everything possible for him to have a amazing birthday. Calm down, eat and sleep. Call me tomorrow when you can." - he's voice was low and calm but there was still that worried tone
"I will baby. Good luck for tomorrow and Sunday. We believe in you."

They bought Mateo back. He was sleeping again. They told me the tests are fine and he just needs to take meds and rest.

Artur come back with food for us.

"Thanks, I'm starving." - i take the food and he smile to me
"You're welcome. How is he?"
"They told me is fine, we found it just in time. He need to take some meds and rest."
"You need rest too Maddy, come on. I will-"
"Can you please stay..."-i looked exhausted at him
"Yeah, just have some sleep. Charles will be worried for you."
"I will sleep." - i nod slowly and lay next to Mateo in the bed

Artur stayed the whole night sleeping on the couch.
