Goombario's Log Day 46: This was a pretty big hodgepodge of sidequests we did today. We beat up Kent C. Koopa, did more of Koopa Koot's favors, won another radio contest, made a few new recipes with melons, got a few more star pieces, and answered some Chuck Quizmo questions. Lots of stuff happened today, but hopefully we'll be able locate the next star spirit soon.
Kooper's Log Day 41: Every time the old koot has more quests for us, a small piece of my sanity dies with it. Thankfully he only had three quests for us today and even gave us three star pieces as well. So not the worst thing really. Oh, and beat up Kent C. Koopa to help Kolorado get back home to Koopa Village. Overall a great day if I do say so myself.
Bombette's Log Day 40: We just left Gusty Gulch where all the boos there were still fawning over Victoria. Do these boos have any other hobbies besides scaring and whatever the shell that is? Oh, and we even helped a boo pick out a gift to give to Victoria, a Volt Shroom. I mean, I hope it goes well so they'll shut up, I guess. Gah. I just, don't want to think about love right now.
Parakarry's Log Day 35: After having given the Yoshi kid his letter from Dane T., I finally got to give Dane T. his letter from the Yoshi kid as well. Along with that I also gave a letter to Egor from Boo's Mansion. And now I got a letter to give to Frost T., the same person who wrote to me not too long ago. I hope I get to see him again soon.
Bow's Log Day 24: Man, that was one greedy koopa I tell you. Thankfully after Mario stomped on him and made him fall asleep, he was a complete pushover as we wailed on his tail. But get this, when Mario hit him with Spin Smash, coins started popping out of him. Considering this guy was charging 100 coins to let us by, I was hoping he'd have more on him. Still, what a Coin Coffer.
Watt's Log Day 14: There's a Yoshi that likes sweets. He gives us melons in return. I wish Mario gave sweets to me. I just like sweets so much. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeee??????
Captain Sushie's Log Day 8: That there Chuck Quizmo sure gets around he does. Even down to the detail of the Yoshi kids not liking me and callin me bossy. I may not be as nimble as I once was, but out on the sea I kept all me men in line. I just followed that logic back onto those kids and wish only for their safety is all. That too much to ask for?
Toad Town
Goombario: So, you've got nothing, huh?
Bow: Trust me, I've tried talking to her and she won't open up.
Watt: She seems really sad.
Karry: You sure you can get to her Goombario?
Goombario: I mean, aside from Kooper I've been with her the longest, and my sister told me to do it so I have to try.
Kooper: In any case, good luck.
Sushie: We'll just go over to the restaurant at the port while you and her talk okay?
Goombario: Sounds good. See you then.
the rest walk over to the restaurant, while Goombario walks over to Bombette sitting against a house corner solemnly
Goombario: Is this other corner taken?
Bombette: looks up No. You, you can sit there.
Goombario: sits down on the other side of the corner Look, I want you to tell me what's going on. I won't even look at you and just stare straight ahead. But you have to tell me what's on your mind, okay?
Bombette: sighs Fine. But promise me one thing. You aren't allowed to tell anyone about this conversation. Not until I sort everything out in my head and know what I want to say, alright?
Goombario: Sure, you have my word.
Bombette: Thanks. closes her eyes for a few seconds I've been thinking a lot about myself lately. Mainly who I am and how I've contributed to the team. And a lot of what I've been hearing is that I'm just not the best at fighting. Bow does a lot of damage, Watt pierces defense, Sushie's Tidal Wave outperforms me, if it ever works, Kooper and Karry have gotten great upgrades before me, and you're always out tattling enemies. Me though, all I do is hit enemies at a lower hit rate, with FP moves that are too costly for their damage. And at times it just feels like I'm only useful in very specific instances.
Goombario: Bombette, what are you talking about? You beat The Master mostly all by yourself. You were the MVP.
Bombette: Yes, I know. But how many other times has Mario used me in normal battles, huh? And then there's my character itself. You've been following Mario since the start and Kooper was destined to join you as pertained by Merlon. And the only reason you guys were able to continue was because I was there to blow up a wall. I didn't feel it at the time, but looking back, I almost felt like a third wheel to you guys. Like the only reason I stayed after we beat the Koopa Bros. was just for the glory of saving the world. Maybe that's why I've been so aggressive towards Kooper; he was destined to help you, not me. I just wanted to stand out and be the star of the chapter, and in turn I've treated Kooper like garbage. But after seeing him risk his life to save us, and seeing all the good things he's done for us, I just can't look at him without this, this, this weird feeling in my chest. Is it guilt, apathy, agony,...
Goombario: Love?
Bombette: L-Love!? I-I don't love him!
Goombario: I'm kidding, okay. And look, I'm glad you finally told me how you feel.
Bombette: slightly blushing and trying to hide it Well, thank you.
Goombario: But listen here. You don't have to feel this way. Do you think your life would have been better had you stayed in Koopa Village with the other Bob-ombs. I'm sure Bruce would have drove you insane.
Bombette: You've got a point there.
Goombario: Plus, you're a valuable part of the team. I'm the brains of the operation, Kooper's the heart, and you are spunk that pumps us all up. We need your fiery attitude to tell us to keep going and save Peach. And I want you to know that no matter what, we'll always have your back.
Bombette: ... starts to shed a tear, hugs Goombario Thank you. I really needed this.
Goombario: Anytime. Anytime. Now promise me one thing. Until your ready to tell the others, keep your chin high. You looking down is only going to make others feel down. Can you do that?
Bombette: stops hugging Goombario Yeah. Yeah I can do that.
Goombario: Alright then. Let's go meet up with the others now.
Bombette: Yeah. stands up Let's go!
