Goombario's Log Day 61: We just wrapped up all of the miscellaneous quests around the world that was left. All that remains, is getting to Bowser, and saving Princess Peach. This is it, we're almost there.
Kooper's Log Day 56: Wow, Koopa Koot was actually nice to us and all he asked was for us to defeat Bowser and save the day. Perhaps I treated him too harshly.
Bombette's Log Day 55: After all this time, I finally got upgraded to Ultra Rank and can now access my Mega Bomb move. I can't wait to try it out.
Parakarry's Log Day 50: We finally delivered all of the letters to the people of the Mushroom Kingdom today from Mayor Penguin, Goompapa, Merlow, and Russ T. All letters duly delivered, but this postman's job isn't done yet. Not until we defeat Bowser and save the world.
Bow's Log Day 39: Well Mario decided to gamble his life away to try and rack up enough coins to buy the final few badges left from Rolf and Merlow. And he actually succeeded as well. Impressive.
Watt's Log Day 29: We got to finish off the last of Chuck Quizmo's questions today. But now he's going to retire. I'll miss him.
Captain Sushie's Log Day 23: I'm surprised to see that a letter had been stuck in a tree on Lavalava Island for so long and we never found it. But at least it was the last one.
Lakilester's Log Day 12: It's weird. I've been on this quest for less than a fifth of what Goombario's been through, but I still feel this sense of pride in saving the world. We are going to do it, and we'll do it together.
at Goombario's House
Goombario: Hey guys! We're back.
Goombaria: Goombario! So good to see you again!
Goomama: Have you been well? Did you get hurt at all?
Kooper: I mean he did end up taking a spiny shell to th...
Bombette: Nope! He's all good. Nothing happened to him.
Goombario: Look, I'm a bad lier so I'll just say it. A spiny shell hit me in my right eye on Shiver Mountain.
Goomama: What!?
Sushie: Hey, hey. Don't blow your lid lassie. I helped him heal up his wound and gave him one of me eyepatches to protect it while it heals.
Goopapa: Phew. That's good to know. I'd hate to have my little boy come back without an eye after everything he must have been through.
Goombario: Dad, please. I'm ok. All thanks to Sushie here.
Goompa: Sushie, was it? Now why does that name seem so familiar?
Sushie: Ah come on. You don't recognize me? I do recall you being me prior first mate.
Karry: I'm sorry, what?
Goompa: Ah! Now I know. Sushie! It's been years since we last saw each other in person. Say, how's the daughter of yours.
Sushie: She be doing well. In fact, she's having a child of her own soon.
Gooma: Awe. That's so very sweet. Looks like you're going to be a grandmother of your own soon.
Sushie: Indeed I will.
Bow: Hold up, Sushie. Back up. Did you just say Goompa was your 'prior first mate'?
Goompa: Ah, yes. You see, back in my younger days, I went out exploring the world with Koopa Koot and Bootler. We saw many incredible landscapes few had ever bore witness to. But then, one day out on the open seas, we were attacked by pirates! And they threw us overboard! We all would have drowned that day, had it not been for a young, spirited pirate captain that lent us her fin.
Sushie: With me crews mates we took back their ship with ease. Especially with me old first mate by me side.
Goompa: I wasn't totally onboard with the name, but it grew on me eventually.
Goombario: First, mate? looks at Sushie Huh. I guess old habits die hard.
Sushie: chuckles It appears so laddie.
Goombaria: So, you're off to fight Bowser now, huh?
Watt: Yup.
Lester: Don't you worry little girl, we'll all come back safe and sound. And with Peach's Castle back where it belongs.
Gooma: But, before you go, could I interest you guys in one more meal?
Goombario: I'm down for it. What do you say Mario?
Mario, who was sleeping the entire time during the backstory
Goombaria: HEY!
Mario gets scared and falls flat on the ground
Goombario: ... He'll be fine.
