S2 Ep3: Grilled cheesus

Gabriela, Santana and Brittany walked up to Kurt and comforted him, seeing as his dad had a heart attack.

"Hey Kurt." Gabriela greeted

"We're really sorry about your dad's heart attack." Santana told him

"Thanks Santana."

"I did a book report on heart attacks if you want to give it to the doctor." Brittany said handing him the book.
"I got knocked down an entire letter grade cause it was written in crayon."

Gabriela put a comforting hand on Kurt's shoulder before walking down and taking her spot in between Santana and Brittany.

Finn stormed into the choir room. "What the hell happened?"

"My dad is in the hospital." Kurt told him

"Yeah, I know, my mom called me. I feel like I'm the last person to know." He complained

"I'm sorry Finn but it didn't occur to me to call you cause hes not your father." Kurt told the quarterback

"Well he's the closest I'm gonna get, okay? It may not look like what everyone else has, but I thought we were, sort of a family." He said calming down now. Kurt remained silent

"Look I guess- I just didn't like overhearing other people talking about it in gym class."

Kurt moved his bag and let Finn sit next to him.

"Hey guys. Our thoughts are with Kurt, and I know it's sort of hard to focus on anything-" Mr shue got cut off by Mercedes

"Mr Shue. I've been struggling trying to figure out what I want to say to Kurt all day. But I realized I don't want to say it, I want to sing it."Mercedes said

She went up to the front. "This song is about being in a very dark place and turning to God."

She called Tina and Quinn up to help her sing it.

"Thank you, Mercedes. You're voice is stunning, but I don't believe in God." Kurt told her.

"Wait what?" Tina asked

"You've all professed your beliefs, I'm just stating mine. I think God is like Santa Klaus for adults. Otherwise God's kind of a jerk, isn't he? He makes me gay and then has his followers going around telling me it's something that I chose, as if someone would choose to be mocked every single day of their life" Kurt explained.

"And right now, I don't want a heavenly Father, I want my real one back." He continued

Gabriela understood what Kurt meant. She had missed her father. At his funeral all everyone told her was that they were keeping him in their prayers, but unless their prayers were going to bring him back, which they obviously didn't, she didn't care for them.

"But Kurt how do you know for sure? You can't prove there's no God." Mercedes asked him.

"You can't prove their isn't a magic teapot floating around the dark side of the moon with a dwarf in it that reads romance novels and shoots lightning out of its boobs, but it seems pretty unlikely, doesn't it?" Kurt told her

"Is God an evil dwarf?" Brittany asked.

"We shouldn't be talking like this. Its not right." Quinn exclaimed

"Sorry Quinn, but you all can believe what you want, I can't believe something I don't. I appreciate your thoughts, but I don't want your prayers." Kurt left the choir room

Gabriela approached Andre at his locker. "Hey, you wanted to speak?"

"Hey. Yeah, I got you something." He said reaching into his locker for something. He pulled out a little box

"I ,uh, I bought you this. I know its not much but I wanted to get it for you." He handed her the box.

When she opened it she saw a beautiful bracelet. Her eyes widened in admiration of the bracelet.

"I wanted to know if you want to be my girlfriend? Not now if you don't feel ready yet, but in the future when you are ready obviously" Andre asked her.

Gabriela jumped into his arms. "I really would love to in the future." She smiled at him

He smiled back at her and kissed her. "Great, that's perfect. So? Do you like the bracelet?"

"I do." She giggled. "I love it."

"Cool. I'll see you later at the match." They both walked in opposite directions of each other.

Soon Gabriela was joined by Santana walking next to her.

"What was that all about?" Santana asked

"Oh, nothing, Andre just asked me to be his girlfriend." She replied

"And?" Santana pressed for an answer

"I said i'd love to just not now. Thats all." Gabriela shrugged.

Santana stopped in her tracks for a second before continuing to walk by Gabriela's side.

"Oh." She said a little disappointed. She didn't know why she was disappointed, she was supposed to be happy for her best friend. That's what good friends do right? So why did she feel upset

"What's wrong?" Gabriela asked her

"Oh, nothing. Let's get to Glee." Santana said

Gabriela locked their Pinkies as they walked down the hallway, people separating for them to walk through.

"Last week we were too sexy, this week we're too religious, we can't win." Tina complained

"Now I know what Miley feels like." Brittany said

"The real tragedy here is that I found the perfect spiritual song to sing this week and now its been torn away from me like Sophie's child." Rachel said. Santana rolled her eyes at the Jewish girl.

"Guys, you can still sing whatever songs you like that sum up your feelings about God, about spirit. Just not at school." Mr Shue said

"I hope you're happy Kurt." Santana told him

"I'm having the week of my life actually." Kurt sarcastically replied

"Guys, back off Kurt okay. He had every right to speak his mind." Mr Shue told them

"Look, Kurt, we're sympathetic to what you're going through, but siding with Ms Sylvester isn't going to do anyone, any good." Mercedes warned

"it's doing me some good. Now I don't have to sit around talking about how there's a God when I know there isn't one." Kurt told her.
