Ch 8: We Become Fugitives

Dream

I see myself floating in a giant cave, with a giant hole in the ground. Where am I? I look around and see the back of someone in front of me. I couldn't make out any features of the person, "My lord, the plan is going along as expected."

Could this be the god that we need to find? "That is good to hear. Soon I will rise and no one will be able to stop me. I will take revenge on Olympus for what they have done to me. When will I be able to commence my plans?"

"The quest to retrieve the lightning bolt has just left yesterday my lord. The son of-"

"Hold your tongue. We are being watched."

"Did you summon them here?"

"No. They brought themselves here."

"H-How? That shouldn't be possible."

The voice from the pit cackled, "For a weak demigod like you, it is, but this one. Oh this one is strong."

I felt a cold stare. God, just who is this person. I've never felt a presence like this before, "You will fail boy! For I am the rightful ruler of this world!"

Woah, what's going on? I start getting sucked into the hole. Come on, wake up.

"HAHAHA! You can not win, demigod!"

I snap up in my seat, breathing heavily, "Woah! Tamotsu, it's just a dream. Everything's ok."

I try to catch my breath, "That was no dream. Whatever I saw, that was real."

Serena had an 'oh' face, "That is what is called a 'demigod dream.' It shows us stuff that is happening at the time. It can also show us the past but that is rare. What was the dream about?"

I described the dream then said, "I have never felt anything like that in my life before. Whatever it was, it was powerful. Extremely powerful."

"You said that they wanted revenge against olympus?"

I nod. I see her face go pale, "No, it couldn't be. Gods help us if i'm right."

"Serena. Hey Serena! What are you talking about? Who can it not be?"

"I-I think it might be Kronos. He's the only one who would be powerful enough to take down the Olympians."

...what, "That's impossible. He was chopped into tiny pieces. It's said that it would take several milenia for him to reform."

Serena sighs, "I don't know Tamotsu. He might have found a way to bring himself back."

I sat there and thought for a second, "Does that mean the god that turned is working for Kronos, or whoever is down in that pit?"

"Yes, yes it does. That just brings up the question, how many other gods are going to betray Olympus?"

The train slows to a halt at the station. We have about an hour break until we need to get back onto the train. We get off the train, "Let's go get something to eat. We still have a long way to go."

Serena nods, "Sure. Let's go get some burgers."

We walk into town looking for a burger joint. It didn't take us long until we found a place. We sat down and ordered our drinks. I looked at the T.V. Huh, wasn't expecting that, "Serena."

She looks at me and I point to the T.V. "Looks like we found who else is on a quest."

The T.V. shows Annabeth along with two others who are standing in front of a blown up bus as well as one of the guys she is with at the top of the St. Louis Arch fighting something. Wait? Did he just jump off the arch? "What has your friend got herself into Serena? She's a national fugitive."
