A couple of weeks pass and their training has gone very well. They were all determined to get stronger. They all seemed to have something to prove. There were many times that I'd see them practicing during their free time. Each one of them started finding what kind of spells that they were interested in. Oliver seemed to enjoy the thought of healing and abjuration magic, learning a bit of elemental magic for a bit of offense. Chloe had a knack for illusions, wanting to be able to lure her enemies into traps. Shockingly, Elia found interest in conjuration magic. The energetic and bubbly girl had trouble, more than the usual demigod, when it came to learning. But when it came to conjuration magic, she could sit still for long periods of time soaking in information. Alabaster excelled at evocation magic, finding interest in using the elements.
I watched my students, friends, spar using their magical abilities in the early morning. It was Chloe and Elia versus Oliver and Alabaster. This was an exercise that I thought would benefit them. Finding out through combat how they could use their abilities together. It also taught them how to allocate the magical energy that they had at any given time.
Alabaster was currently on the offensive, while Oliver supported him through a spell that gave him resistance to damage. They were blasting copies of Chloe and Elia, unbeknownst to them. Chloe and Elia were leading them into a trap, luring them towards the 'net.' Every now and then they would send an offensive spell of their own, making it seem like they were on the back foot.
They lured them a bit farther before ropes came shooting out of the shadows, ensnaring Oliver, while a pink light appeared on the floor, freezing Alabaster in place.
I walked up to them clapping, "Nice job Chloe and Elia, that was amazing."
They smiled at me and released the two of them. I turn towards the other two, "You two got distracted by the illusions. You thought you were on the offensive and fell right into their trap. You've got to look underneath the underneath."
The two of them nod, "Alright, I know when we started I said that you wouldn't be using your magic outside of training, but now I think it's time we show them what you're about."
I grin as I say this. I look at the others and they are all excited. Oliver says sinisterly, "Ooooo this is going to be fun."
Elia is jumping up and down, "I can't wait!"
My grin gets bigger, "They're not going to know what hit them."

I was standing around a table with the Stolls, Serena, Beckendorf, Pollux and Castor, and Katie Gardner. We were discussing the plans for capture the flag. Sadly it wasn't going well, everyone was arguing with each other about what we should do. I started to get fed up with it, "ENOUGH! You guys are arguing way too much."
I make my way towards the map, "Alright, we'll take half of the Hermes cabin and have them on defense while we split the other half in two and have them push 100 yards apart. Before the match, the hephaestus cabin will set up traps around the flag as well as on the path of retreat in case we get pushed back."
I grab a marker and start marking up the map, "Pollux and Castor, you're going to be the key to defense. Snare their offensive with vines, do whatever you can to slow them down and stop them."
I look towards Katie, "The Demeter cabin will split up with the offensive part of Hermes cabin, use your ability of plants to provide defensive cover for them."
I draw a dotted line through the center of the two offensive attacks, "I'll take Alabaster, Chloe, Elia, and Oliver and sneak through the offensive, going for the flag."
