Ch 21: Recovery and a Shopping Trip

I jolted out of my sleep, breathing heavy, my mind reliving the night before. I take a couple of minutes calming myself down and look around. Where am I? I hear the flapping of wings and see the baby dragon. It landed on my shoulder and nuzzled my cheek. I chuckle, "Someone's happy... wait, you still need a name."

I sat back down and put the dragon in my lap. I scratched my head, "Are you a boy or a girl?"

It just tilted my head at me. I sigh, how can I figure this out...? I instantly stand up, having an idea. The little dragon flew to my shoulder. I weave some signs and place my hand on the ground. Through the smoke, Geezer Dragon is standing there, "Ah, hello Tamotsu, I hope that there's a good reason that you summoned me."

I pointed to the little dragon on my shoulder, "I came across this dragon while on a mission. I was wondering if you'd be able to take it to the Dragon's Den. I also thought that you'd know if it's a girl or a boy."

"Hmm quite interesting. Let me have a look."

The baby dragon hopped off my shoulder and flew over to him. Geezer Dragon walked around the little one and looked over the dragon, "Hmm, it is a girl, and on the topic of taking her to the Dragon's Den, did you find her before or after she hatched?"

"Uh, before, but why does that matter?"

"Ah, you see, she has imprinted on you. I can't take her to the Dragon's Den. It would not be beneficial for her. She needs to stay with you."

"Alright, I'll take care of her. Got any ideas for a name?"

"Her mother left a name for her after she laid her egg. There is no human translation to it but the closest thing would be Ryoko."

I raise an eyebrow, "How ironic, 'a woman who looks like the dragon,' isn't it?"

Geezer Dragon chuckles and Ryoko bites my finger. I pull my finger away and hiss in pain. Geezer Dragon then says, "I better be going now. Oh, and by the way, Toothless is doing great right now. He does miss you though."

I smile, "Thank you for telling me. Tell him that I miss him and can't wait to see him again."

With that he poofs away. I stood in the room for a second. Now to deal with where I am. I remember falling asleep on the Hokage Monument. How'd I end up here? Ryoko flew to my head and sat on top. I walked around the home and it was huge. Bigger than any mansion that I came across back home. I walked out into the courtyard and saw Izumi and Itachi sitting there. Izumi saw me and said with a smile, "How are you feeling Tamotsu?"

"Eh, could be better," I changed the subject, "I did find out that the little one up here is named Ryoko."

Izumi giggles and Itachi chuckles, "Fitting name for her."

I smirk, "That's what I said."

I walked over to them and sat on the railing, leaning against the post looking at the two of them, "So where are we anyway?"

Itachi says, "You are in the Uchiha compound, in the clan head's mansion. I brought you here after you fell asleep on top of the Hokage Monument."

The memory came back to me of the evening before. After a moment of silence, he asks, "Why didn't you tell me you were living in the forest?"

I sighed and leaned my head against the post, "I didn't think there was a need to. I've lived on my own my entire life, it's nothing new to me."

Izumi then says, "That doesn't answer the question. How come you didn't tell us?"

I hesitated for a second, "I... I didn't want to bother you. We were finally getting close and I didn't want to change that by telling you."

Itachi then says, "Tamotsu, I am your sensei, my job is to make sure that you are ok. Nothing would have changed by telling us."
