Ch 6: We Fight a Store Clerk

We both jump out of the way. Great. Juuust great. How are we going to defeat her? Serena and I charge in, trying to close the distance. Oh shit. I jump out of the way of another blast. I continue forward and slash at her. She pulls out a sword and blocks it. She pushes out her hand, "Caeli Repulsio!"

I fly back and crash into a shelf. Ouch. I get up and see Serena fly back as well. This is not going well, "You are a fool if you think you could defeat me!"

I slowly get up, "Oh please, I know grandmothers who punch harder than you!"

I see her face get angrier, "You will pay for that with your blood!"

She raises her hands and says an incantation, "Ferrum Leonem Vocat!"

That can't be good. At the end of the spell, two metallic lions appear out of nowhere. Shit. One of the lions leapt at me and I jumped out of the way. It swipes at me and I deflect it with my kunai. Huh, it's hollow. Think Tamotsu, how can you defeat this? I feel a fireball come from the left and flip over it. At the same time the lion swipes at me and I use both kunai to block the swipe. I start to slide backwards. I redirect it to the right and send a spinning kick to its side. Mhmm, it's surprisingly light. I think I have a plan. I start to maneuver to get in between the lion and Medea. She keeps sending fireballs at me. Damn, doesn't she know when's enough? I finally got into position. I lock the lion's paws with my kunai and make sure it doesn't move. Almost there. I get down on one knee, making it seem believable, "You were no match for me! Now die!"

She sends a fireball at me. I jumped over the lion , jumped on its head, and sent it into the fireball. It goes flying through the fountain and crashes into the grilling section. I looked where the fountain once was and there was a giant hole. It starts to get up but then explodes, "You will pay for that you scum!"

"What's next you ugly hag! Gonna send a clone of yourself to come scare me?!"

I throw some shuriken at her and she deflects them, they bounce off of her blade. At this time, I ran over to see Serena destroy her lion as well. We hid somewhere in the store to regain our bearings "Glad you're alive Serena."

"Same as you, Tamotsu. You got a plan to defeat her."

I take a second to think. Ahah, "Yeah I got one."

I pick up the shield next to me and put it on my back, "Ok, we need to draw her to the hole. Then we can knock her in."

She nods and we put the plan into action. We charge her, dodging all of the blasts that she sends toward us. We get in close and start hand to hand combat. She drinks a potion and her speed increases. Damnit, that makes this harder. We both send a barrage of swipes at her and she blocks and parries all of them. We slowly guide her towards the hole, making it seem like a coincidence. She uses one of the repulsion spells on me and I go flying back. I spin midair and plant both feets on one of the columns and push off. I take off the shield and ram into Medea, sending her into the hole. I lay there panting on the floor. I prop myself up on my elbows. I look at Serena and pant out, "We did it."

She looks at me and smiles, "Yeah we did."

She offers me a hand up, "Thanks. Now we need to tell Hades that whoever is behind this is capable of bringing someone back to life. Do you know how we could contact him?"

"Yeah, all I need is a rainbow."

I raise an eyebrow at that but don't question it. We walk around the store and look for something that can create a rainbow. I see a prism, "Hey Serena, I found something."

I toss her the prism, "This will work. Come on, you're about to have your mind blown."

I follow her to a lamp and she turns it on. She holds the prism away from the lamp and creates a rainbow. She hands me a drachma, "You know what these are right?"
