Ch 7: The Unexpected Happens

I felt someone nudge me on my shoulder. Ungh, I rolled over and muttered out, "Five more minutes."

I heard someone say, "If you don't wake up right now, I'm dumping water on you."

I groan and get up, "There, you happy?"

I see Serena standing there with a hand on her hip, "Yes, I am. I need to look at the cut on your leg. You might need to take more ambrosia."

She kneels down beside me and I roll up my pant leg so that she can look at it. She unravels the bandage and takes a look, "Huh, it seems like the cut has fully healed. That's weird. Yesterday the ambrosia had a hard time completely healing your wound, but now, it's fully healed."

I shrug my shoulders, "I don't know. I'm new to this whole demigod thing. Maybe we can ask Chiron when we get back."

She sighs, "Yeah, we're gonna have to. No point in stressing about it right now."

We eat breakfast and get ready to leave. There isn't much of a reason to be staying here right now. We need to get to Albuquerque as soon as possible, "Let's get going Serena. We need to keep going."

"Alright just give me a second."

We get on Valk and take off. It was currently seven in the morning. The plan was to fly for six hours then take a rest if we needed to. The flight was going fine, the sight was still amazing. We were flying at about the same rate as yesterday. We were trying to come up with a plan on how to take out this god but were not able to come up with anything. How are we able to come up with a plan if we don't know who the god is? We were about six hours into the flight when, "Hey Valk, you doing ok?"

She shakes her head, "Let me know when you are going to need a break, ok?"

She neighs in response. Right now, we are in the middle of Missouri. We're making good time, we have about 12 more hours until we reach Albuquerque. Serena taps me on the shoulder and I turn my head, "What is it Serena?"

She points off to the side, "There's something off in the distance. I can't tell what it is, but it could be dangerous."

I see it too. What could it be, "Keep your eye on it. I'll make sure that nothing comes from anywhere else."

I start checking in all directions. This is really not what we need right now. All of a sudden, Valk dives down, "Woah girl, what is it?"

She chuffs in anger and looks straight ahead. What the hell is that? It looks like a lightning horse. I've never heard of that, "Serena, do you know what that is?"

"Not off the top of my head. Give me a sec... Ok i remember, it's a storm spirit, they were created when Typhon was first banished to Tartarus."

I look around and see we are surrounded, "This isn't good. You think you can outrun them girl?"

She shakes her head no, "Ok when I tell you , dive down, ok?"

She chuffs at that. I can tell Serena is getting worried, "Tamotsu, they look like they are getting ready to charge."

Not yet, "Tamotsu, we should get out of here now."

Almost there, "What are you doing?!"

I pat the base of her neck and she dives. She starts to pick up speed. As we fly down I see one of these storm spirits coming from below, "Serena! Make sure I don't fall!"

I pull out a kunai and lean to the left. As we pass by the storm spirit, I lean over and slash it. I feel my arm tense up and I almost drop my kunai. Ow, it electrocuted me! I put my kunai away and hold my arm, trying to get the feeling back into it, "How can we attack these things? We get electrocuted when we touch them."
