We were traveling for some time. I was walking alongside Naruto and Jiraiya, lost in thought. I was spending a lot of time thinking about those Akatsuki guys. Toothless was on my head, fast asleep. Naruto and Jiraiya were arguing about something but I wasn't paying attention. A couple of minutes later, I finally said something, "Hey Jiraiya? I need to ask you something."
That got them to stop arguing. Jiraiya replies, "What is it, Tamotsu?"
"Those two guys said that they were looking for someone called a jinchūriki? The fish guy said that I was supposedly a Jinchūriki. What's a jinchūriki? What do they want with me?"
He sighs, "Listen kid, we were going to tell you, but here isn't the right place. All I can tell you is that there is a great power that lies dormant inside of you. From what I gathered those Akatsuki guys want the great power that lies inside of you."
I don't say anything afterwards. Could this power be related to what happened on Half Blood Hill and while I was fighting Ares? I was snapped out of my thoughts to Naruto saying, "Hey! Hey! Pervy Sage, hurry up and teach me something!"
Jiraiya placated him, "Now now, stop being impatient. It would be pointless to just train without collecting intelligence on Tsunade at the same time."
I butt in, "Where are we going to collect intelligence?"
We get to a railing and Jiraiya says, "In this city."
"Oh."
Well I'm an idiot. We make our way into the city. There are a lot of street vendors everywhere with people bustling about. We make our way into the middle of the vendors. Naruto starts looking at all of the shops, "Wow! This is cool! I've never been in a place like this before!"
Jiraiya chuckles, "Play is just as important as work. Rest for a little bit, and then we'll start with your training. We'll stay here for the festival's duration. I should be able to collect decent info. We can also start your training as well."
I laugh, "It's about time you started our training."
Naruto starts looking through his backpack and pulls out a frog wallet. Naruto starts to walk off but Jiraiya stops him. He takes the frog wallet and takes out 300 ryo and gives it to Naruto. He then goes on to explain the three shinobi prohibitions: alcohol, pretty girls, and money. I have a feeling that Jiraiya breaks these pretty often. He then gives Naruto his bag and gives me another 300 ryo. He leaves us to go search for information.
We walked around the vendors, playing some games and eating food. There were a lot of cool shops that we went into. I ended up getting some dumplings that were pretty good. Not as good as Teuchi's ramen, but still pretty good. Naruto just bought a mask when he tripped and fell on his face. I walk up next to him and help him up, "You ok Naruto?"
He scratches the back of his head, "Never been better."
Naruto then picks up a book that's on the floor, "Huh it's Pervy Sage's checkbook."
He goes to open his checkbook and I sigh, "You know it's rude to look through that kind of stuff."
Those words fell on deaf ears as he opened the checkbook, "It's full of zeros! If he had that much, he could have bought me something, that cheapskate!"
Naruto starts walking off. I walk up beside him, "He's not obligated to buy you anything, ya know."
"It's the principle!"
What principle? We go through the festival and Naruto stops at a vendor, "Hey mister, can I get two of those skewered squid please? Oh, and can you make one big enough for an adult?"
